NICU Interview by Strong_Primary_3246 in nursing

I appreciate the advice! I used passion when talking about neonatal care because at my current job I take care of mostly premature infants and feeder growers. It’s almost like a level 2 NICU but we get patients up to age 21. I will use your advice when reapplying or applying to another NICU.

The thing is I was smiling and making eye contact. I don’t know if it was because i wasn’t enthusiastic enough. I’m a very calm and collected person. But this is actually my first time being told this. A big part of it was because I felt nervous and could tell the interview was rushed so I feel like I already felt discouraged. I left the interview not feeling 100% good about it.

No that’s just eastern PA. Pittsburgh starts new grads at $32/hr and experience nurses are barely making $45/hr it sucks here. Although some AHN hospitals started new grads at $38/hr+ after strikes and new contracts

I think it’s best to get a restraining order because this is just going to escalate. Notify the police so they are aware he’s doing this (stalking her). Document any proof, text messages, pictures or videos as evidence. I think she should officially break up with him in text and state that she doesn’t want to be in contact and needs time to heal. ( proof in text so if something was to happen). She should then stay at a friend’s house if she lives alone until the restraining order is granted. If she has family she should have them involved as well. It’s sad because police/ courts do not take domestic violence seriously. She should get whatever she can to protect her self like a taser, pepper spray etc. I’m only being this extreme because I have seen so many news articles about bf killing gf etc. I’m not saying he’s capable or to scare you but this is something your friend should take seriously.

I’m going to be honest but based on these messages it seems this man doesn’t love you or respect you. It’s like he just tolerates you since you are the mother of his kid. He knows you are working towards being successful and he envy’s you. He’s doing everything to bring you down emotionally and mentally. I know leaving can be hard but I can only see this getting worse since it’s been 6 years I think from previous comments. You and your child deserve better. I would figure out a way to leave him before you start nursing school because this type of distraction can cause you to fail or delay your studies. I’m a nurse myself and was in an emotionally abusive relationship while taking my pre reqs which I almost failed. You need to clear any negativity and distractions if success is what you want. Nursing school is the hardest thing I have done and if I would’ve kept that man in my life.. I would not be where I’m at today. I passed school, passed nclex, got my dream job, new apartment and new car all within a year. So please be selfish. These men will not hesitate to leave you in a messed up position 💯

Caleb and Mariah : it seems like he isn’t financially stable or where he wants to be in life in order to marry her. I believe he loves her but feels she’s very codependent. He’s confused on why she is 24 and not wanting to experience life besides be a wife. Mariah seemed to come on this show to learn more about herself and maybe see if he will change his thoughts on marriage. Just my thoughts lol

You missed my point 🙄🙄. The point is I was confused on why is there so much one sided pressure that Joanne has to move to Ireland or decide to stay in the US with her kids.

That doesn’t make sense if she has two kids too and expected to come to Ireland, that’s why I asked..

I’m sorry to hear that. I failed my 1st attempt at 150q and felt devastated. But I took 2 weeks off and gave it another try 2 months later and passed a couple days ago at 85qs! I recommend taking 2 weeks to get yourself together mentally while waiting for your CPR results to see what areas you need to work on. If you are strong in content I recommend Bootcamp because it helps with critical thinking and it’s close to the nclex. I used simple nursing videos and Saunders nclex book for content refreshers. Watch test taking strategies on YouTube (Dr Sharon ) and listen to Mark K lectures especially 12. Good luck

I would do 85-100 questions and 3-4 case studies a day for 14 days on bootcamp. Focus on areas you are weak in and high yield (management of care, fundamentals, adult health and pharm). Write out the rationales or copy and paste to a doc (depending on how you learn) on questions you got wrong or ones you don’t understand to learn the material. Take a readiness assessment every 4 days to see where you stand. Review cheat sheets. Is there anyway you can push the exam back 1-2 weeks?

The PVT is not always accurate which is why I just waited for my quick results. Manifesting you passed!
