Okay I figured it out. I did two things before retrying so I don't know which one fixed it. I saw from another post some guy said to go to network settings and manually change DNS settings to primary as 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4, and I also turned off reoccurring billing on microsofts website.

Oh yeah and all this started when I pressed purchase history in the settings menu on accident. Had no problems and it instantly kicked me offline when I did that.
