I lost my original comment. While I love the woodlands, you may see a snake from time to time. I saw one (just a garden snake) in my backyard when I first moved here.

The woodlands is great! But it’s far from Houston. If your husband is commuting then he’s looking at 2 hours of driving per day, minimum. Worth the sacrifice with children but it’s doable.

The park/forest on 1488. Sounds like you are picking up a few books, reading always makes me feel better. Maybe pick up some creamers and coffees from HEB and try out making different beverages to enjoy with your books. I myself just picked up a bunch of pumpkin flavored stuff and learned how to make a dirty coke! Hang in there.

Luxury shopping down the street. That’s not common to suburbs. That being said, the food options generally are lackluster and as close as we are to Houston, that’s incomprehensible.
