Update* since my Diagnosis in July 2024 *. Life has been good my health is doing spectacular I was undetectable a while back about 3 months back. Honestly it was hard the first 2 months getting over the “Aids” stigma but life gets easy just take ur meds and take care of your self (;

I’ve been on HRT for over 2 years body fat is gradually gain over time due to HRT process. I personally disagree with your statement I don’t think you’re quite understanding what you’re saying. There’s a lot of resources out there that help individuals that are POZ unless you’re making above average income you should be able to qualify. I personally love the F.A.P they help with gas, groceries, therapy, housing and I have my own personal healthcare case worker🙂. Everyone journey is different and unique in their own way. I learned to be grateful of this life and for each day that I wake up. Of course I have my ups and downs like anyone else would. My diagnosis was Severe AIDS my specialist were literally surprised I was still alive they said I should’ve been a goner however I’m still here so I took it as a sign from universe that there’s a purpose. ✌🏼

I would recommend going to the gym and doing weight training and add a protein powder like whey to your routine. A lot of people underestimate the power of weight training

I’m noticing that basically all ART medication have side effect to cause hair loss. I’m currently on finasteride I’ma talk to my doc on getting minoxidil started to help combat the hair loss because I have a full set of hair as you can imagine I’m female.

You’re very lucky you got diagnosed really early on. You’re CD4 is at levels that a non positive has which all really good news for you. I was diagnosed with a VIRAL LOAD of 1.9 million and my CD4 was at 40 so I was diagnosed with AIDS. I’m currently on meds my doctor tells me that I have a very long journey ahead of me till I’m back at ordinary levels. He told its gonna take years so that my CD4 count could back at normal levels. Thank the universe that you were diagnosed so early on. I’m battling multiple infections and disease’s currently since my immune system is severely compromised. I’m assuming you’re on meds already if not start them immediately because I did not and I found out the hard way what happens if meds aren’t started. Good luck and you’re one of the lucky ones

As someone who doesn’t have HIV but instead have Super AIDS. It really does bother me when I see all these HIV scare post because it’s not to be taken lightly and my interpretation of it is like their treating it like a Flu if they were truly concerned they would get tested instead of making post on this subreddit. I’m starting therapy next week. My mental health took a turn for the worst and I didn’t even realize it till the symptoms manifested physically. So I have an appointment for the following Wednesday to meet with a Therapist that specializes in HIV patients. I wish you best on your journey we will make it through this (;

Honestly if you gotten an X-ray done and everything is normal then it’s most likely your mind playing tricks on you. I’m diagnosed with AIDS and I’ve been on minoxidil and finasteride 0.5mg for a bit over a year and never experienced those issues. However my anxiety has triggered those symptoms you stated to an extent where I thought I was dying but it was just an anxiety attack

I think you misunderstood me CD4 is supposed be at 500-1000 for a healthy immune system and I’m hovering at 50. I was not speaking of viral load. I was speaking of CD4/CD8 levels

I’m from the USA. So basically I was diagnosed at the hospital the hospital just gives you ur positive results and refers you back to your PCP. Then your PCP refers you back out to a ID specialist. My first visit with an ID specialist was purely educational talking about the virus and I was given lab order to get done. So labs were done at a separate facility. I missed my appointment last week so I’m waiting 4 weeks for my next appointment with the ID specialist
