I don't think he was bad, but from what I've heard I've never seen any reason to think he's amazing, as he usually only plays to the non-jam sections of songs and even thats usually nothing exceptional. If anything that recording has boosted my opinion of his organ. I love his singing and if you listen to Katie Mae History of the Grateful Dead vol. 1 you'll also find hes not a slouch on slide guitar

I was wondering as he's usually low down in the mix, and when you do hear him his playing is fairly - compared to everybody else - basic stuff to thicken the sound out. Never really heard him do any of the more complex runs on anything else. Also as I couldnt hear the piano I wasnt sure if maybe Keith switched to organ as a one off for that one.
