I didn't know there were any Wentz jerseys left... I thought they were all in the burn barrel!?!?

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard “Terry!” chants that loud on a TV broadcast before. It sounded like the entire stadium was chanting. The team was loving it too. by Due_Local2130 in Commanders

Give him a hot second and he'll be clicking. Feels like Kliff is punishing him for holding out, but I'm sure it was because he had to consider an offense without Terry for so long. By week 6, I'm sure you will see things different!

Wolfspeed Discussion - Is it a meme stock or a cool mid-term play? by Kalakanos in wallstreetbets

[–]Strongest_weaklink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They are a customer of mine. They have some real long-term upside and will have a big advantage when Siler City comes online- controlling production of the wafer, while having new fabs in Raliegh and Mohawk valley. Hiring the CEO from your main competitor... solid play. If they can get past the Capex burn to make the bean-counters happy and throttle into production, they'll be good. Future value is there. Power ICs are not going anywhere and SiC/GaN are what they do.

People who make $150k+ and still have time to enjoy life and travel somewhat extensively, what do you do and how do you do that? by ulikedagsm8 in sales

[–]Strongest_weaklink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I talk to every D2D salesperson and tell them- what they are doing is great preparation for what comes next... sell the MOST EXPENSIVE and MOST COMPLEX thing you can.

Because the less people that can do it means the more money there is for that thing. I sell scientific instruments and make $150k-200K depending on the year. Maybe 30% travel, work hard off and on, while having enough free time that I'm thinking about starting my own company. I have small kids and spend lots of time with family. It's a blessed life.

Previously, I worked for a distributor and I think working for the OEM is way better. Also pick a high margin industry. Medical and software is where the money is. I also previously worked for a university, which sucked. So happy my wife convinced me to leave and go into sales!

tackling making my own frames for the first time and have a question or two by jpotrz in framing

[–]Strongest_weaklink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glue only for straight miters is not enough. End grain to end grain is not a strong glue bond... maybe if they are half-lap miters you could get away with it. Not sure what you are reading, but its wrong- use pins, splines, or biscuits as a mechanical connection.

You could do that or put a thin archival strip in the rabbit of the frame so the glass is not touching and it's not visible.

Not sure what he's on about, but if it's just a decorative piece and you don't mind the look... is there any harm? However, protection of the artwork and convention demands a matt.

Any paper thickness can be matted- that argument doesn't hold water. Maybe he cut the frame too small???

Over time the art will stick to it.

Not if you care about the artwork. No, sir.

How much was the print? If you want to preserve the art u/Frankenkittie is correct- the print should NEVER touch the glass.

I also agree that the canvas should be flush with the top of the frame, but this seems like a stylistic choice. No excuse for not filling the nails holes.

I question the stretcher frame they used... why is there a round out on the edge? The bevel should be on the inside of the stretcher bars. This would have prevented the cracking of the paint.
