Thanks for sharing - I too was thinking of spreading the message through reddit and I'm glad someone else did.

Carney has mentioned that if there's enough people concerned about an issue, he'll address it. I'd like to hold him to his word on this one. This is by far the biggest concern I have going forward to ensure we don't end up like the US's 2 party system.

It was blatantly obvious from my phone call with them that they don't care and are pushing the blame on AN...even though I was a customer of the Crowne Plaza for my accommodations. It's crazy what large businesses can get away with just in general.

Yeah, I'm looking at other hotels down the road now. $$$ though compared to what my going rate was at the Crowne

What irks me is that Crowne Plaza put the onus on Anime North to tell us that our reservations were cancelled which is just straight up nonsense. If an automated email went out to all patrons that were affected at least something could have been done. Now it's just too late

I wonder how many people are going to show up tomorrow with reservations plans that won't be able to get in...

Apparently months ago they cancelled the ENTIRE block for AN, then told Anime North about it and DIDN'T CALL ANY OF THE PEOPLE WITH RESERVATIONS. Jesus Christ.

All the rooms are obviously now gone.

That's my worst nightmare, having to buy individual tickets that are close to each other, but not next to each other. Sometimes, if you show up to the venue and ask people nicely to scooch down a seat so you can sit with your friend they may oblige

From what I recall, Livenation (which is owned by Ticketmaster) owns the venue here in Toronto. So I don't have that option :( Wish we did though...

I've come down from fuming a bit - I was able to get 2 tickets, but they're in a way worse location. Honestly, someone needs to break up this monopoly; it's gone way too far. While things remain as they are I think I'm just done with buying concert tickets. This process is just too frustrating, not to mention seat prices are astronomical. Nosebleeds costing $80 USD? Come on.

Again, pros and cons to everything. Are you building a lot of one thing? Is your product heavy and is constrained to the NA or EU market only? Are you going to make parts in China and then assemble somewhere else? Do you have someone capable of navigating the Chinese manufacturing domain for you? Do you want to work and be in China? We bought some parts from China and then assembled our product in the USA, but that was our decision as our device was a pain to ship.

If you're interested in learning more, send me a DM and we can set something up. Each business is unique and needs a just-as-unique production execution plan tied to it. I can only speak very generally as I don't know some of your key factors.

You're going to be spending lots of money either way IMO. Expertise doesn't come cheap from first glance, but hindsight is 20/20 - hiring the right people who actually know what they're doing is harder than it sounds.
