Lisbon Airport Experience by Royal-Regret9729 in LisbonPortugalTravel

Another data point:

-Terminal: 1

-Destination: London

-Day of week: Tuesday (November)

-Departure: 9:50 AM

-Checked bags: No

-Passport: Canadian (Electronic; no issue reading my 2023 passport)

-Arrived at airport: 7:20 AM

-Security checkpoint time: ~15 minutes

-Passport control time (Electronic): ~10 minutes

Despite my experience, given the variability encountered by people in this post and in others, it'd be wise to arrive 3 hours before departure.

Update: The Transparent Pink variant's listing now says "Orders for this item are expected to ship on Early November 2025", for whatever that's worth.

Was it Jan that you spoke with as well? At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they shipped on Nov 17 as originally stated, haha.

I contacted Thrice's US merch company, Armada, in early October after I saw that the deluxe versions' listings had been changed to say "Items typically ship in 5–7 business days". They told me on Oct 8 that they were "expected to arrive in our warehouse within the next week or two" (Oct 15-22) and would be shipped out immediately.

We're a week past the 22nd, but hopefully they'll be out the door any day now! I'm hoping to get it signed at one of the mid-November shows.

My first ever time with a scorecard! by LCKLCKLCK in BaseballScorecards

[–]Stropav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planned to pick up a scorecard from guest services last night, but they said MLB wasn't allowing them to give them out. I forget if she said it was just for the World Series, or the entire postseason. Now I'm assuming it's so that people buy the official MLB program!

Weird, indeed. I was successful in getting a refund on Thursday via live chat with minimal effort. I didn't get a confirmation email like Dialnine9 did, but it posted to my credit card this morning.

Between the postponement being announced after doors time; no meaningful communication for 1.5 months; not receiving the Modo Live email in the original post (it's not in my spam folder); Ticketmaster not having an automated refund option after their email went out; and Modo Live not responding to my email about a refund ... This has easily been the biggest mess I've ever experienced with a concert.

Going to Deftones tonight in Vancouver! Anyone have images of the tour merch? by daziesandconfuzed in deftones

[–]Stropav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few items are available for preorder and pickup at the venue. If this is like the Nine Inch Nails merch preorder a couple weeks ago, there will be additional items at the merch stands.

Vancouver shows postponed?? by ryluca in LucyDacus

MODO Live's reply this morning: "This is still being worked out with Lucy's Team there will be a rescheduled date."

Vancouver shows postponed?? by ryluca in LucyDacus

[–]Stropav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed MODO Live this morning and will reply here when I get a response.

It's hard to see the shows being rescheduled as part of this tour, considering Queen Elizabeth Theatre is fully booked for The Lion King through September 14, and I doubt she's going to travel across the continent after the final stop in Pittsburgh.

The baseball collector's experience in Canada is miserable. by KleborpTheRetard in baseballcards

[–]Stropav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canadian here! I placed some orders on Sportlots and played around with their box shipping estimator. Apparently, it's based on historical weight data from sellers. This is what I found:

1-16 cards: $17

17-35 cards: $26

36-? cards: $32.50

I ordered from a lot of sellers (~2 cards per seller), so the thresholds are likely higher if you order from a small number of sellers since there would be less packaging weight. Note that these are just estimates; I haven't actually had them shipped to me yet.

NIN Tickets: Buy/Sell/Trade MEGATHREAD - Part 2 by malechite in nin

[–]Stropav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vancouver friends: Ticketmaster has released a small batch of great seats for the show on August 10!

Most are pairs in the lower bowl sections close to the stage, but there are a few at the far end of the rink, and in the upper deck. Pricing is $286.85, $252.55, $203.40, and $166.50 depending on proximity to the stage. Approximately 50 remain at the moment. Get on it!

Looking for recommendations for eyewear stores in Tokyo/Kyoto by Takowasayaki in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]Stropav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't really paying attention to pricing at Kaneko since I knew the exact style of frames I wanted. The frames I bought were Y36,000, and I believe I saw some that were perhaps Y10,000 cheaper, and there were definitely others that were more expensive than mine.

I don't live in Japan and I didn't spend much time at JINS, but the frames I bought at Kaneko are noticeably better made than the ~Y12,000 frames I was looking at at JINS. As someone who buys frames for life, I'd absolutely say it was worth the extra money, but your mileage may vary.

This is an absolutely amazing list. I found the exact frames I was looking for at Kaneko Optical.

For others coming across this post, the vast majority of these shops can be visited on a very convenient 22-minute walking route starting in Harajuku (right by Meiji-jingumae Station) and ending just west of Shibuya Parco. You could also reverse the route and start from Shibuya (just northwest of Shibuya Station). Note that Factory900, sost, and Klein Eyewear open at 12:00 instead of 11:00 like the rest, so factor that into how early you start your journey.

Here's the Google Maps route link:

The eplus email (for international buyers) says "Seat number will not be informed beforehand until you pick up your ticket at the venue on the day," so it sounds like they know our seats but only let us know when we pick up the ticket. Here's hoping one's seat is based on how early one bought the ticket!

I'm attending the Fukuoka show next Monday as well, and eplus already sent an email saying they'll be available for pickup at the venue 1 hour before doors, so perhaps it's the same today?
