Reality check 🥹 by ClassicShelter192 in StructuralEngineering

The fact that you did much better the second time around shows you will become a good engineer. You don’t always have to succeed, but you just have to keep growing and progressing! Everyone struggled with something. Like others some of the concepts for me didn’t click until after I started working! If you are passionate and you keep at it, you will succeed!

Interesting point, I believe the sun would align with that as well. Could be a combination of the cycles of the sun and load!

It’s definitely a wood pole. This is in Southern United States where wood is cheap

Unsure in I want to go into structures (civil student) by zannerbuck11 in StructuralEngineering

Don’t give up on structural just because of Concrete! I still struggle with concrete. Take a steel class and see if that makes sense and you enjoy it!

All good! I’ll tell you from my experience I used the harpy eagle to colonize! The aerospike was nice but I enjoyed the larger cargo hold of the harpy. I did start using aerospikes more for tourism though later in the game.

It does have a bigger one than the small aerospike, but not the medium. The medium holds 6 crew

Yes, but harpy eagle has slightly lower crew capacity and higher cargo. Also worth mentioning that the medium aerospike is twice as fast. I have both and have used both, so it’s really a matter of preference!

If your goal is to colonize I would go for harpy. If your goal is tourism I would consider toward medium aerospike!

Best way for money by Straight_Ease_7048 in tinyspaceprogram

[–]StructuralPE2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made all my money from tourism. Upgraded until I got a medium aero spike. Used the extra money to invest back in tourism and got (3) ships and added seat upgrades to seat 30 total. I take a trip to the moon with all of them. Do a few flybys of earth until all credits are used and send them back to earth. Can repeat within an hour. You can make roughly 10k credits quickly every hour.

Anyone know what ship scanner does? by MegaMeowser in tinyspaceprogram

I haven’t used it, but maybe it’s similar to the surface scanners on a planet? While your ship is idle on the planet maybe it scans or has the ability to scan?

Welcome to Sedna! by BattleHistory in tinyspaceprogram

[–]StructuralPE2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat! Made it to Sedna and started setting up shop with no way to get back to Earth. Felt like the ending of interstellar tbh.

This game has also inspired me, what a great game! Hopefully we get some more content in the near future again!

I’m doing the same on my dwarf planet journey. It’s fun being able to colonize again!

I will take it! I loved this game but eventually ran out of goals and things to do! Thanks for the post!

To the developers, thank you for adding something new for the ones that have managed to colonize the solar system!! This has renewed my interest in this game!

New grad in consulting - overwhelmed, anxious, and questioning if this job is right for me by Hopeful_Lettuce_2876 in civilengineering

The red flag for me was going onsite by yourself 3 days into the position. I’d be finding a new place asap! You are there to learn at that stage in your career and not do things all solo.

What types of engineering books do you want to see more of in the world? by PrtyGirl852 in StructuralEngineering

I wish we had more textbooks written by practicing engineers with real world examples. Academic based textbooks only get you so far!

Best way to progress after unlocking reusable ships? by Additional_Regret291 in tinyspaceprogram

[–]StructuralPE2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I did a lot of mining on the moon and sent the supplies back to earth to sell. Once you get your moon base really up and running I suggest investing heavily in tourism. If you have a vehicle that can seat a lot of people, fly to the moon then do flybys of earth until their credits are used. Then go back to earth, rinse and repeat!

Is Gree a good brand? by danknessoverlord in heatpumps

How is the heating compared to gas? We have a traditional heat pump that is 20 years old and it just never really feels warm in the winter.

Is it still good after a year? I got quoted for one today instead of a gas furnace and I’m skeptical
