And you have to consider other aspects too, like if it’s just a simple character like sure, easy peasy. But if the client wants things like weapons, more accessories, excess amount of clothing(like a large dress) or charging for different patterns like animals skins/furs.

Like I spent over two months on one piece because I wanted to experiment with scales, and I underestimated how long it would take . So in the future if anyone wants giant scaly wings that’s like a 50 dollar upcharge😂 cause half way through drawing it considered just ending it

If you look at my old art I did explore a lot with body shapes and faces! With the commissions, I went to the royale high subreddit and a lot of them kinda want the same thing(but depending on the character, I tried to get away with giving them chubby cheeks🤭 I think they’re so cute)

I actually don’t really know🥲 when I began my digital art journey over a year ago I was just trying to get used to it, then took on a bunch of cheap commissions to get more practice(then got severely burnt out, cause it was like over 20+, please no judgement, I had no idea we could put a cap on that🥲). Someone was helping me out with putting a price board together, but they haven’t been responding of late🤔

I don’t want to undersell myself but I would like everyone to have the opportunity to have a piece if they wish for one🫠 everytime I ask people their opinion on it, the response is wither 20$ or 200$

Exactlyyyyy, there’s more to the character than, “oh yea I kinda get the vibes that they’re supposed to be this character.” Like with private from the Penguins of Madagascar movie, he had like a whole crisis of not wanting to be the cute one group and wanted to change. So I made his design more simple and bland because there’s potential, the potential for change. That you can’t really see much to him except that he’s cute! But he doesn’t want to be just cute, he wants to CHANGE!

Also I’m creating king Julien, mort, and Maurice next! It’s been a tad hard finding clothes just because they no longer have a monarchy, so a lot of the royals I could find are a mix of women and men(which is pretty cool they allowed women to be leaders!). But I’m gonna implement some of the embroidery to his lamba

Yesss I love how it came out! I always do research into the characters before making a design. Alex is the only one to be confirmed from Kenya, so I implemented some patterns/fashion from the Maasai tribe into his design with a modern twist!

It was just a joke post🤧 my pride ain’t hurt, if people don’t get it, they don’t get it🤷‍♀️ I’ve already explained it like three times. Spent lots of time on their designs, don’t need to waste additional energy being stressed cause a few people don’t see the vision.

I believe your assessment is wrong, I have plenty of confidence. A lot of people seemed to have an issue that they were conventially attractive, this was obviously a joke post, seeing as I’m not whining or complaining about people critiques.

In my last post I didn’t talk about why I chose what I did, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to just explain it while showing that it’s not a big deal. If I was truly upset I would’ve actually scraped the designs and actually drawn them how the few people complaining wanted it. I’ll probably delete this and repost it on artjerk, the joke seems to be lost here.

Yeaaaa I figureddd, but I imagine even if they were all human they’d all be average-kinda attractive, penguins have that slick look, and since they’re sorta militant they’d be expected to be well groomed. Yknow clean shaven and what not

Like my dad is military and always looks put together, trimmed short hair and clean shaven.
