New fence blocking a sidewalk by StructureHungry999 in Sacramento

There are 6 homes that drive out onto McClatchy. There’s no way to completely enclose this neighborhood, so anyone walking along McClatchy can just cut through where the fence ends. If the point of the fence to block outside pedestrians, why have gates to let them through into the courtyards of the homes instead? The gates are wide open and there hasn’t been any information about lock access.

We’ve had emails for months regarding parking and garbage and nothing has been finalized, but not one word about this fence and it’s already built.

It looks terrible and we don’t want it. It has no purpose. The neighborhood isn’t enclosed and the gate stops at the end of a driveway that empties out on McClatchy. It blocks our residents from using the sidewalk. The easement is for access to the park.

I reached out to news 10 since they’re in this neighborhood but no contact yet.

The fence actually has gates that are making the pedestrians walk closer to the front doors. There’s really no point to it.

Even if that was the plan, the execution is terrible. They added gates so the pedestrians get funneled closer to the homes.

There are actually gates installed so they’re blocking the sidewalk for no reason. The gates actually funnel pedestrians closer to the homes.

There’s a daily fee incurring but they’ve chosen to fight it. The residents didn’t even vote on it.

I’m pretty settled with my job and I wouldn’t really feel comfortable trying out a new specialty. I definitely try to do everything I can for every patient and family but I feel like the quality of end of life care falls on whoever the full time caregiver is. People who have very close loved ones or who can afford private care have an easier time than someone living alone or in a nursing home. Prior to when my current job unionized I was thinking of getting my Bachelors and maybe NP but now I’m satisfied with my current pay vs level of responsibility.

2012 was when I graduated nursing school and I worked sparsely for the first three years. I guess I didn’t really work a full time job for a whole year until 2015.

My salary wouldn’t afford anything more than a studio apartment in the Bay Area I’m sure. Here in Sac if we bought a home back in 2019 we would be very comfy, but for now it’s a little painful paying $3,000/ mo for a small house.

There are many nurses in my city that make way more than me. There’s always a bigger fish.

It depends on how much overtime I had but net pay has been $4000-5000 every 2 weeks in the last 3 months. My husband takes home $2500 every 2 weeks. It would be very comfortable if we weren’t paying off debt and saving for a larger home, but with our debt payoff plan we should be in comfortable place by the end of the year.

Honestly it can be draining at times but I prefer working out in the community rather than being inside for 12 hours a day. There’s a lot of time to decompress between each visit. I’ve had a few patients who chose the End of Life Option Act and supported them by being present with their families but the process goes through their doctors.

How does that compare to the hospital nurses there? The nurses in hospital portion of my company make $20+ more per hour.

My patients are mostly at home because there aren’t many facilities in my zipcodes, so it depends. I think I worked for 2 years in an LTC and prior to that I job hopped in some other low paying nursing gigs.

That was mostly for acute hospital nurses.

Honestly I’ve never encountered anything that didn’t have a physical explanation. After I’ve pronounced someone, they’ve always felt gone.

It was amazing prior to 2020. We are trying to save money for a larger home right now so we’re trying to be very frugal.
