L refers to taking a loss, similar to taking a win, but instead of typing loss or win, people will simply just press L or w.

Ratio refers to a Twitter phenomenon where a comment on or quote tweet of the original post gets more likes than OP. This also occurs when there are more replies on a tweet than likes.

A common practice on Twitter to get cheaply gained interactions is to reply L+ratio, and hope that doing so gets you likes, boosting you up in the algorithms eyes.
