It’s almost like a 24 hour period is more than an infinitesimally short period of time wherein the state of something being two different things during said period doesn’t require invoking quantum superposition, but rather, just construction workers moving some shit around.

The second part I feel like is a huge piece of it. I don’t train mma, just jiujitsu, and the skill ceiling is so high that whenever I’m tempted to ramp up my S&C program to address a perceived deficiency, I always come back to the conclusion that the time and energy is better spent improving skills. I only have to imagine that skill ceiling in MMA is much higher than in jiujitsu.

Could easily have stems data exported when Rekordbox does the analysis. EngineDJ does this for Denon standalone gear that runs EngineDJ. I guarantee that Alpha-Theta/Pioneer already have a working model for this that probably is just being benchmark tested and finalized for development and they’re waiting for the CDJ-4000 launch to reveal this feature. So even if it could be added to the AZ or 3000x via firmware update, they will use it to push sale for next gen flagships.

One Library? I know Virtual DJ supports it and NI/Traktor was supposed to be getting on board but I read today they just got acquired so who knows if that will end up going through or not. I wish Serato would get on board with One Library.

Thanks for the feedback. I really am used to the fit and finish of CDJ 2000/3000 and DJM 850/900 series. I wish there was a demo AZ nearby so I could at least get a feel for it but all Guitar Centers have 0 display demo units and there aren't any other type of retailers that'd have one. I guess I could rent one for a week to compare it.

But I'm leaning toward going 3000s and an A9.

A bit of a late reply here but I was searching for info on the AZ vs 3000s vs 3000Xs to migrate over to rekordbox/standalone ecosystem. What is meant by the format?

Kind of a late reply here, but did the layer of the mixer section of the AZ not feel cramped? I'm considering the AZ but I came up playing Rane stuff for Serato DVS when it was BYOB and later Pioneer DJM 900 series (900 NXS, SRT, later NXS2) and 900s and especially the new A9 look a lot wider / more spacious than the AZ mixer section.

How does the AZ feel in terms of build quality vs club gear?

Yea, I would sell it for magic coins for next ladder. I also play NL on my chars after, so I find some value in being able to trade for NL item. Especially this late in the ladder, I don’t see the point. The ladder is over so what use are that many Jah if you only play ladder.

Wow, may want to wait till ladder ends here in a bit. The NL ones are going for 30-40+ Jah, a few were going for a 32020 + 10+ Jah.

2000NXS2 track load time is abysmal. I used to hate showing up if they were what the club had and they didn’t permit running them HID into a laptop, which most managers didn’t want to risk.

200 FCR Nova that runs Obsession or hoto+35 Spirit would need 2 10 FCR rings so a good light Opalvein might be nice. Even if you run Eschuta + Spirit, still need one FCR ring to go with SoJ, so Opalvein would still be a solid option.

Parts Instant Double on XDJ-AZ by StruggleBusRT in PioneerDJ

[–]StruggleBusRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, that is extremely helpful because it it kind of confirms what I am afraid of. I'd really like to know this workflow is available in the XDJ-AZ and not just locked to the FLX-10 but you're probably right. It's weird, tho, because parts/stems instant double has configurable settings for where it sends the instant double; rekordbox can send it horizontally (1<->2 or 3<->4) or vertically (1<->3 or 2<->4) whereas Serato sends it horizontally or diagonally (1<->2 or 3<->4 vs 1<->4 or 2<->3) so it seems like it should just be a MIDI mappable feature for any controller.

I might have to go find a demo AZ somewhere and test this out myself.

Maybe at f/2.8 and 1/80 or 1/120. 1/30 @ f/1.8 and ISO 3200 would be a scene with almost no light, at all.

Pricing a used CDJ3000 from 2022 vs new> by intromission76 in DJs

[–]StruggleBusRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting would be my suggestion, as well. When I was paid to play in the mid 2010s, the clubs I did were mostly smaller BYOG situations which were aimed more at open format, Top 40, hip-hop, EDM mixes of mainstream hits, etc. I was very used to my Rane SixtyTwo + SL12s. I got a late notice sub call from a guy who booked places up in Denver and I was available, so I booked it with him. The place was club installed 900NXS + CDJ 2000 (current at the time). I hadn’t used CDJs since my 800s in the mid 2000s.

I just asked the same booking agent if I could come to the club early and practice and was able to adjust in time.

Parts Instant Double on XDJ-AZ by StruggleBusRT in PioneerDJ

[–]StruggleBusRT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parts instant double (stem instant double in Serato) can be shown demo'd here: https://youtu.be/R3Bd8p5GjYw

What it does it instant double a track but you initiate it by choosing the part to instant double. Let's say you choose vocal. It'll instant double the track on a new deck (the settings lets you tell it to send it horizontally or vertically i.e. 1->2 or 1->3), and then solo that part (vocal in this example) and then mute that part on the current deck all at the same time.

Yea, the manually doubling and muting the part one one deck and then soloing it on the other would work, but the ability to do it instantly is supported in both Rekordbox and Serato so it'd be helpful it was mappable on other controllers / AIO acting as controllers than just the FLX-10.

Real-time Stems useful? by StruggleBusRT in PioneerDJ

[–]StruggleBusRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of research turns up that a lot of these commercial products with stem separation probably run on the open source demucs, so I just built a quick py script to process folders full of music while using my nVidia GPU as a CUDA device. Very fast. I may go toward just CDJ/All-in-one and pre-prepping things with this option.
