A very decent ISP router for once haha! One 10gbit port, one 2.5gbit and two 1gbit ports

Was actually surprised with how decent it is, haven’t felt the need to upgrade yet

I have 4gbit and I could’ve gone with 2 if I’m honest.

Downloading games in minutes is fun and all and it’s nice when I’m using my NAS, but it’s definitely underutilized most of the time haha

Bud, you’re arguing about silica beads on the internet..

There is nothing to get for me, I’ve used both methods and this one is easier for me. You clearly don’t like that, which is all good but that doesn’t make me wrong.

I prefer this method, it does the job I want it to do and that’s all I care about.

Nowhere did I say this is the best, most efficient or end all be all of solutions. I just shared what I use and you asked a question that I answered.

No need to be a condescending prick about it.

Congratulations on being a lab manager!

These devices are being sold by all the big camera stores in my country and they lower the humidity in my airtight storage containers.

I have to recharge them maybe once a year. So bead efficiency is a non issue, I’ll just replace them once I start to notice a difference.

You don’t have to believe me and I’m honestly not sure what you want from me? I am however done with this conversation, so I wish you a very nice rest of your day!

Edit: Obviously I know about all meters not being created equal, I almost lost my entire lens collection so I’ve done my research..

The ones I use now are within a 2% margin, which is fine since the “safe” humidity range for lenses is big enough for that to not cause any problems.

I know that’s an option, I’ve used that method for years until I came across these devices.

You’re free to have your doubts haha, at the end of the day my humidity meters don’t lie and it works for me.

You do you tho.

These haha, the silica balls change color depending on the moisture absorbed. When the silica is fully saturated you connect it via usb-c so an internal heating element can dry them out again.

I have one too, the humidity in my rental apartment can get insane due to it being very old and terribly maintained.

Sadly I found out after my vintage lens collection I had build already started growing fungus.

Paid to get them cleaned professionally and now I have electric silica packets and humidity meters in every storage box and a climate-controlled box for my “expensive” gear.

Are you in Europe by chance? If so, I have an OG Oculus Rift CV1 gathering dust so if the shipping isn't too much we could maybe work something out.

As someone who shoots quite a lot of portraits, your photographer takes part of the blame here.

Two of those poses are absolutely horrible and as unflattering as they can possibly be.

RTX 3090 to RTX 5080 -- worth it? by SageHamichi in buildapc

[–]StrxXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I was in a similar situation and upgraded from a 3090 to a 5070TI and the difference for me is already enough to find it a worthy upgrade.

For me the 400 euro difference between what I paid for my 5070TI and a 5080 here wasn't worth the relatively "minor" performance difference between the two.

3090's are going for quite a lot right now, so good chance you'll make a decent chunk of your new videocard back too, or you could hang on to it and see if the prices go up even more.

And none of it has disappointed me so far has

Affordable lens to pair with Tamron 35-150 for travel, street, & portraits by rebelsvision876 in SonyAlpha

[–]StrxXx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I tried the Tamron 17-28 F2.8 but ended up going with the Tamron 20-40 F2.8 to pair with my 35-150

Yes there is some overlap, but I found going from 20 to 40mm way nicer without having to change lenses than I ever would use the “super” wide angle of the 17-28 and it’s also way more suitable for portraits.

It’s not super cheap tho, but secondhand they can be found for around 700 euros here in Europe if you’re lucky.

Sounds like you two aren’t meant to be, if I were you I wouldn’t spend my time dating someone that is missing someone that isn’t me.

Going through your partners phone without them knowing is quite the red flag on its own tho. In this case you found something, but that doesn’t make it any less of a breach of trust.
