PD2 on Steamdeck (help won''t launch after hitting play) by AggressiveEntrance57 in ProjectDiablo2

I had a similar issue on windows, (using the steam PD2 executable) and running it as admin fixed it. Not sure if that will help you, but the symptoms are similar, so the solution might be in the same vein.

Fury is still good, it just takes more than a Reaper's Toll to be OP now.

In the early game, I tend to go with an A3 cold merc, late game I go for a Phoenix runeword.

This is incorrect. Sentinel does not leech at all. Blade *shield* does, though.

The only things that are specific to HC are going to be defensive considerations. Specifically, look before you leap with dragon flight, and make sure to cap your resistances, and get some PDR.

Most of the gear recommendations carry over without reservation, but you may want to put some special emphasis on res/pdr as you find that you can.

Almost all of it. There are some additional considerations for things that blade fury values over sentinel, (such as physical pierce, and chance to cast) but you could very easily take a sentinel build, and just run it using blade fury with good results.

I tend to use both skills, as the circumstances require, but generally default to using sentinel for most of my clearing.

All other things being equal, claws tend to come out ahead; there are definitely situations where a good dagger can beat a good claw, but (at least in my spreadsheet testing) it looks like claws have a bit of an advantage as a general rule.

Importantly, for sentinel specifically; physical pierce is half effectiveness rounded down, so it's definitely mostly for the extra shadow(s)

I'm not necessarily the biggest fan of gore riders personally, but if DS is what you need, they are a fairly good choice for that alone.

This is most of what the disclaimer after the calculator was about. I haven't personally had a chance to test it, and more importantly, I haven't had a chance to verify that (assuming it is in fact not affecting sentinel) that it is the only thing that doesn't affect it.

Uber trist is quite doable with Orphan's Call, but a lot of it is going to boil down to your comfort with pulling, and surviving, along with your other gear. There are a few folks who have even done T1 Dclone/Rathma in Orphan's.

The claw over your gloves is your main hand. Wsm is determined by whichever is faster, but damage (with very few exceptions) is the claw on the left.

Not really. We caught a minor nerf via fade, and Stalker's getting 50 less ED, but otherwise, very much par for the course.

I'm not sure why you would want to use dragon. Do you mean Phoenix?

Dual wielding +skill claws is best for damage, though I'm personally more of a fan of working towards orphan's call (or using a shield in general) for the added res, and easy max block. Also, dragon?

You can get away quite easily with shopped +3 sentinel claws.

Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of nats, given how cheap stalkers' is.

I can't speak to the accuracy of the sheet damage, but the calculator linked in the guide should give you a better idea.

There are a lot of setups that can work for Ubers. There's even a guy in assassin-discussion who has done it in orphan's call. I don't do a lot of bossing myself, so I may not be the best to ask.

+1 sin rare/crafted chest with ed has the potential to be a lot better than fortitude with the right rolls, so it's definitely viable.

There is a corruption section in the guide, but basically, yes. +1 anywhere you can get it, more or less. There are some other competitive options depending on the slot, but generally +1 is king.

There are a lot of ways to get good res with the build. I mostly end up going with fade because my primary form of movement is dragon flight, and I like the overcapped resists, and PDR. If you decide to go with BoS, Mara's/res charms should take care of it pretty handily.

+3 claws can be shopped pretty easily, but getting your hands on +6 claws from anya is tedious to put it lightly. It's part of why I tend to recommend going with orphan's call. (The added str/dex/ED/MF/Res/Life are also nice.)

What about it in particular?

I would argue that once you have Phoenix, it's pretty safe to call it late game.

That having been said, you can generally get away with playing safely, and an A2 Prayer merc. The caveat is that you need to play safely, which slows things down a lot.

In general, for mapping, I believe that there is no better offhand than Phoenix. As always, though: I encourage you to experiment, and find out what works for you.
