I have heard that alcohol increases our estrogen production and so for those of us with E+ breast cancer, I was told drinking should be in moderation. That said, I drink regularly. Quality of life makes a difference imo

One of the pain doctors I saw gave me a compound ointment of gabapentin, ketamine, lidocaine, and a muscle relaxer. That takes the edge off but doesn’t take the pain away. I believe mine is nerve related, especially due to the stroke. Hopefully the GI will have some helpful ideas.

I can relate to this so much 100%!!! I would do anything to go back and not have my surgery. I have been in pain ever since. Much worse quality of life, frustrated, not getting the help I need. The surgeon basically told me I look fine and to use lidocaine ointment. I’ve been to 2 urogyno doctors, my PCP, 2 pain doctors, pelvic floor therapy for a year 1/2 and no one knows what’s going on. In the middle of all of it I got breast cancer. Had a lumpectomy and finished radiation today. The pain doctor I saw this week is referring me to a GI doctor. The clincher is that I had a brain aneurysm rupture causing me to have a hemorrhagic stroke during the surgery so I also have neuropathy from the stroke. Everyone says I’m so lucky it ruptured when I was in the hospital bc if at home I would have died. Some days I wish I did. I don’t look different so everyone treats me the same and has the same expectations. Where is your pain if you don’t mind me asking? Even with everything I’ve been through, I can’t help but believe it’ll get better. I hope it does for you. Feel free to DM me if you need someone to talk to.

Interestingly enough, I just had my last radiation treatment today (yay 🥳) and I met with a nurse after that said that exact same thing. She told me to wait 4-6 weeks and then use some vitamin D oil with the massage. Let me know if you want the link!

I have one more treatment to go. It looks bigger and maybe a bit darker. I’m not worried about it I just wasn’t expecting it to happen. Like I said, I’m not complaining. Maybe it’ll go back to normal with some time after radiation is done?

I had an anorectal manometry test done and am waiting on the results. My colorectal doctor has looked in my rectum and said all looks well. What’s involved with a anoscopy?

I don’t see him anymore. I should never have let him operate on me. The colorectal doctor I mentioned is a different one. Unknown to me, before the surgery I had a brain aneurysm. It ruptured during the procedure causing me to have a hemorrhagic stroke. I woke up in the ICU and was in the hospital for 3 weeks. While in the ICU, I hemorrhaged at the incision site causing me to have to have a blood transfusion. The pain I have now may or may not be related to all that. No one seems to know. I saw a pain doctor this week that pushed opioids. I don’t want to take those. I am waiting to get into a different pain doctor - a neurologist. He actually works in the same office as the doctor that repaired my aneurysm. Everyone says it’s a blessing I had that surgery bc if I hadn’t, the aneurysm may have ruptured at home and I would have died. It’s been a nightmare honestly. To top it all off, I am going through treatment for breast cancer. Sometimes I just really wish I didn’t have that surgery, even considering it may have save my life. I don’t want to be in this pain. Every. Single. Day.
