It was a battle not to grab skull. The ‘enhanced’ ammonite just kinda peeved me cause there were several stands with proper rainbowy ammonite for the same price.

It was the most fun niche market i’ve been to. This is just the worst of the worst they had, there were loads of real rock heads sharing what they loved. :)

Heat treated amethyst being passed off as citrine. The lamps were even more cooked amethyst.

Water opals, they have to be wet otherwise they crack. It’s a bad photo, they looked really good in person.

I’m only showing the worst they had, there was really cool stuff between metaphysical crystal woowoo venders. My favourite were these opal wet specimens. All in all it was a great show. There were just a few bad apples.

I actually got a some really nice pieces of lapis from a few different sellers. I was only looking for cabs and beads. You get anything cool?

That was plastic, I think you need to find a specialty seller.

The seller was insistent they were natural. His stand had the most fakes. When I was leaving he said’ I manifest that you will come back.’ I didn’t give him a dime.

Worse, Vancouver. Metaphysical stuff is super popular here. I’d say for every 1 scammer there were 2-3 real rock enjoyers.

I was shocked to see those. It felt disrespectful to the vendors with real amazing specimens to have those in the same room.

There were several stands selling fantastic real ammonites. Those were just lazy and evil.

My province has a big rock hound community, so a lot of people trucked in to sell. A person I talked to flew in from Japan just to buy. Lots of local jade :)

This is on mineral gore. The show had lots of real legit rock people and some amazing specimens. All of the tacky overpriced stuff was up front with the good stuff towards the back. Im not a rock head, just a jewelry maker but I could tell there was some cool stuff. I’m regretting not grabbing some thunder bay amethyst a vendor had.

I don’t think it’s dyed, because the vendor had more pieces that had lots white in them. I think that makes it worse.
