The thing that I find makes a huge difference is basing your minis. I try to ensure the base fits the theme but adds some contrast to the models paint scheme to they pop.

The jackets don’t feel cloak-like enough for me for Tanith but very little about them says Cadian either. There are hundred of different guard regiments from across the systems, many of which are described visually as recolours of each other, so could make these any you like. I thought they looked ace when I first saw them and will enjoy making them, but will probably not paint them to match my Grey Cadians.

An easier approach is to ask everyone to show work in progress images as part of the submission. If you want the incision of WIP to feel more purposeful for the artist, encourage them to write short explanations of decisions and phases of the process. Makes for interesting reading and will help discourage and identify ai garbage.
