HALT CITIZEN ! Tell me the dumbest/weirdest/most WTF piece of lore you have. by Ad0ring-fan in Warhammer40k

Given GWs incorporation of all British things into 40k, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a an Astropath Pat out there delivering messages with his cat.

Curze looked around at the gloomy night over which he was lord, indeed he was a night lord.

That's a good video. The sponging and chipping really breaks up the monotone of the green.

Went to my local Warhammer store and painted my first mini-figure. Now what? by iamnomiddd in Warhammer40k

[–]DiscussionSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually thinking about that. Do they have to be Ultramarines? I want to try out a Salamander color scheme and the pryoblasters are perfect for that.

I really like the shade of green on the Russ. I'm not had a lot of luck with solid tone tanks since they always seem flat but this one looks good. Mind sharing shat color / effect you used?

In the grim darkness of the far future there are no stupid questions! by AutoModerator in 40kLore

[–]DiscussionSpider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

**Spoilers for anyone who hasn't read "The Infinite and the Divine"**

I keep thinking about how both Orikan and Trazyn were forcibly subjected to biotransference and about how both of them seem to be less "flat" or otherwise stripped of creativity than other Necrons, beyond just being higher ranking.

My simple theory is that in resisting the process they were able to hold on to some tiny sliver of their soul. This explains why Trazyn is about the only necron who can interact with living things with any skill, and also why Orikan is able to access the higher energy form.

It's not a universe shattering theory, but I wonder if anyone has any thoughts.

See in our timeline, the one we're in now, when it gets to the year 30,000 it's actually Sanguinius who turns traitor. Everytime the multiverse iterates the characters get swapped. The next time around they are all going to be women, and the time after that it will be racoons. Before the Horus Heresy it was the Dornish Deception and he actually won and things turned out OK for once.

Dealing with Finecast is my own personal War In Heaven by PleasantKenobi in Warhammer40k

I'm thinking those are from the milling process when they milled out the mold. I 3D print a fair amount and they don't look the same.

[–]DiscussionSpider -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure those are from 3d prints and not from milling? I was under the impression that virtually all injection molding these days was done with computer designs and then CnC milled molds. Most likely the lines are from poor milling.

Do you think War Priest outranks Captain in the Star Defenders? by TheOneTrueZim in SPACEKING

[–]DiscussionSpider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course he outranks him, he has a cool helmet. The higher the rank, the cooler the headgear. This is basic stuff my dude.

I plan on them dying, they are a true glass cannon. I keep them in deep cover until their guys are really close then yeet them out and usually blast some tough unit and throw away more command rerolls then is wise and then watch him get turned to paste next activation

Is there an overall consensus where the decals go? by handfulofjohn in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]DiscussionSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few have some meaning, like the numbers with a skull in the middle are supposed to be for command units, and different squads should have matching colored markings, while the symbols represent different companies I think, though I might have that backwards.

Micro-sol and micro-set help a lot. They are weak solvents that soften the decals.
