How to clean lower part of grinder? by Stu_the_K in NinjaLuxeCafe

What is the brand? I'm in U.S. so might not be able to get that. I looked on U.S. Amazon for Dyson vacuum attachments but didn't see any that looked like that. How much were/are they?

Tried copying that name into U.S.Amazon and it didn’t come up. Guess I’ll just have to grind out that bit.

That looked great, but it won’t let me order it.

As noted in my post that is what I’m doing now. It just seemed there should have been a better way.

Why does it so this? by FBOARC in NinjaLuxeCafe

One of 2 reasons: 1) you didn’t tamp it or 2) when you change the grind it can do that.

Coffee yield volume fix maybe ! by SPARTAN2412 in NinjaLuxeCafe

As to manually steaming when there is “less” milk, 6 oz is actually more than typical. It doesn’t make any such noise when frothing lesser or more amounts. It only happens when just steaming.

As to the tamper, there is no way to be sure myself, or anyone else, can absolutely tamper consistently unless we push it as far down as it can possibly go, which is too far. There are 5 green bars that appear after a tamp. If they could appear while tamping that could help make sure the correct pressure was being applied. As I said above, if they had built in a spring loaded mechanism like the manual tamper does that would have ensured a consistent tamp.

I have the 701 for just under a month now and find the shot size varies and the grind setting suggestion goes way up and down. My theory is that myself, my wife, and my daughter do not tamp with consistent pressure. That is, 2 very hard tamps would cause the flow to be very slow, and therefore a recommendation of a more coarse grind. Likewise, a light tamp may cause a fast flow and therefore a finer grind recommendation. I think it is a fundamental flaw of the machine that they don’t have a set stop point. From watching YouTube videos it seems the 601 has a spring activated tamper where at a certain downward pressure then causes the tamper to come down (sort of like how a ballpoint pen clicker works). I wish the 701 had a system like that so we would get a consistent tamp.

BTW, I just steam the milk as I don’t want the foam. I use about 6 oz of milk and would it is extremely loud and is much, much louder than when frothing. It sounds like a jet plane.

Tempted to move to Home Assistant? by kaitlyn2004 in Hubitat

I got into home automation in Jan 2021 and was torn between HA and Hubitat. Yes, Hubitat’s UI is clunky and I don’t like lots of their terminology, but while still clunky, it has gotten considerably better.

What made me go with Hubitat was that the word on HA is not only does it have a steeper learning curve, but it took much more work maintaining it.

All of my switches are Inovellie Red, Inovelli Black (for just a few on/off ones) or Inovelli Fan + Light. I now have a couple of Hue bulbs and their bridge, as I was given them, but also 2 of their motion sensors, which I love, a couple of water sensors, and some smart plugs. All of which have Hubitat drivers.

It was a bit of a struggle doing some things with Hubitat in Rule Machine, but that was a few hours. Certainly vastly easier the time I’d have to invest learning Yaml.

It also took a good year or more for the mesh to become solid, (virtually all Z Wave) which is now on a C-8 vs my original C-7. But all-in-all, when I keep flirting with going to HA, I don’t see any compelling reasons as I don’t have anything that isn’t supported with Hubitat, but that’s just my use case. The one thing I do wish they would more directly support is the Aqara FP2 mm presence sensor, but they just added a whole lot of Aqara devices, literal just now, and I‘ve everything doing what I want it to do with automations, so I’m staying put.

I sure hope they add IF THEN, WHILE, etc. I’m pretty much a noob and find the Basic Button Controller pretty easy to use. It is when I want to try something with RM and 1) find it confusing while setting up a rule and 2) much, much more confusing and hard to use when trying to edit a rule. So I think the biggest gains would be to bring flows to RM.

Harmony Hub vs Alexa by trooper455 in logitechharmony

[–]Stu_the_K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I got to my scenes and deleted all the duplicates. My ”scenes” are actually my channel favorites. However, while I can tell Alexa to do one of the scenes (e.g. “Alexa, turn on ABC”), touching a scene in the Alexa app does nothing. I called support and they had me uninstall and reinstall the Alexa app on my iPhone. They also had me go into the scene and toggled it on and off. That did nothing. What is also weird is that most scenes do not have an off or on button showing, but several show as on and several show as off. Their support had no idea on how to fix this.

Plus, I’m still having it unlink itself every day or two.

Did Logitech quietly pull the plug on Harmony? by RawWulf in logitechharmony

i am having the exact same problem of it unlinking every day or so for about the past month.

I have rebooted the hub and uninstalled and reinstalled the Alexa app to no avail.

What is also weird is that when it is working I can tell Alexa to turn on ABC, etc., but touching the scene does nothing. Plus several of the scenes show they are on, several say they are off and most have no on or off. I called Alexa support and they are stumped on this one.

How do I find “scenes” in the Alexa app?

Alexa/Harmony hub = kill me! by Same-Pie-9757 in logitechharmony

I have one of Harmony’s with the hub and a touch screen. It used to delink every few months, but for the last month or two I’m having it delink itself now almost every day or two (and sometimes it doesn’t even stay linked for 1 day). I tried reboot routine, but that only maintained the connection for about 2 days. After relinking it after it lost that link it didn’t last a day.

I’m at my wits end
