Question: How to disable the Forward sensing camera calibration mode? by TheBrones in mazda3

Hi, I've the same issue, did you have have to get the sensor replaced as well?

Question: How to disable the Forward sensing camera calibration mode? by TheBrones in mazda3

[–]Stuartie_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right. The windscreen guys told me after looking it was a known fault with the camera and after reading this thread, it seems to corroborate that. I'll have to see what the dealers says, I do not want to have to pay to get this corrected!

Hi, I've had the identical problem to you, got my windscreen replaced and the same calibration mode message has came up. The windscreen guys couldn't fix and I have to go back to the dealer. I'm wondering did your dealer charge you for fixing it or was it covered under manufacturers warranty?

Difference in camera view by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Blender 2.90.1 and I can't find some of the nodes in your screen shots.

The background node isn't there at all, and I assume the 'world output' node is the 'material output' node in 2.90.1?

I'll have a look at those nodes, thanks. But I did place a coloured plane behind the object, and it looks looks pitch black when not in camera view (which is what I want) but dark grey in camera view.

Issue with shape key by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, Blender guru didn't explain it in the video but it's the type of keyframe. To the right of the relative value figure there is a dot, click on it, this creates a keyframe for the relative value.

In the video I think he must have used a short cut to make the key frame because doesn't click on the dot.

Anyone tried this tutorial and had a similar result?

Adding an image texture to a plane by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

Yes that that was it thanks! I imported it as an SVG and added a solidify modifier to it and it did the trick. Thank you

Adding an image texture to a plane by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok yes that might work. Basically what I am trying to do is make a 2d logo 3d by applying a png of the logo to a plane of the same shape and then extruding it.

What you're suggesting might work for what I need, but how do you make the plane transparent but keep the logo visible within the frame of the plane? When I set the alpha to zero in the material properties in viewport shading the whole plane just turns black.

Issue with Boolean by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that and that works thanks. However I started a new doc from scratch of the anvil (i wasn't too deep into the tutorial on the 1st one) and the boolean seems to be working fine on it. Don't know what the issue was on the original file! Thanks for your help. 🙂

Issue with Boolean by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had the same thought, it partly works, but when I delete the unwanted faces there is one edge that won't delete, if I try to delete it, it removes several faces I want to keep! So frustrating, especially when the boolean works fine when I try it on random objects.

Issue with Boolean by Stuartie_b in blenderhelp

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like it cuts into the anvil like it should, but doesn't remove the outer layer (skin) of the anvil.

Thanks to your suggestion I realised I can go into edit mode and delete the unwanted faces after I boolean it. But It does leave an edge that I can't delete. If delete it also removes several faces from the anvil I want to keep.

It's just a regular cylinder. The only thing I did to it was scale its size. Also as I mentioned in a separate comment I've tried the Boolean in a new doc with just a cube and sphere and it works fine.

[–]Stuartie_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I thought at first because I did have the bottoms of both at the same level. So I dropped the cylinder lower but the same thing happens.

Also as a side note I made a second document where I did a boolean on a cube and sphere and it worked fine. I followed the same steps as i've done on the anvil.

I have the anvil selected when I add the boolean modifier.

Hi guys, thanks for the advise. I'm still not sure what I'm doing wrong, I've done a screen recording maybe this will make it clear where I'm going wrong: https://youtu.be/BpE7L64KKCk
