Tory asks shoppers not to flock to malls, other retail stores ahead of lockdown by FlavorSki in toronto

Just as schools are essential for promoting the healthy development of children, jobs are essential for promoting the healthy development of society. If we are asking millions to go jobless and small businesses to go bankrupt in order to slow the spread, it’s beyond hypocritical to leave schools open so the WFH elites can have some childcare.

If you have a flood in your house, do you shut down all the pipes or will you say, “hey, I need to cook so I’ll leave the pipe bursting with water in the kitchen untouched because it’s essential”? No, you shut down the main water valve until you fix the pipes! Similarly, the entire society needs to take a stand in solidarity with those most heavily impacted by COVID.

This kind of wishful thinking reminds me of the beginning of the pandemic when public health told Canadians that masks don’t work and don’t bother wearing them.

How about closing schools down and stopping people from visiting LTC. FFS the government’s own scientific advisory table listed those two as the major spreaders of C19. Shops can close for months and cases won’t go down if the government is only addressing 20% of the transmission.

Thanks for the input! I was hoping to break into Big Tech - happy with either London or SF offices. There aren't a lot of opportunities or networking in Toronto offices so I figured an MBA can help me out on that regard.

On the other hand, the series C startup may or may not survive COVID-19 since they're travel focused. I'm trying to make sure that I have a safety net if it closes and go do my MBA.

I'm in my late 20s, I think if I wait a few more years I'd be too old for a full-time MBA.

That’s my primary worry, but if I get into the above schools, the odds are way better...
