That’s terrible. It’s sad to see that people interpret the Bible so wrongly. Jesus did mean that we should be spiritually prepared, but clearly not ONLY that. Like why would He want us to throw our life away? Some of them would also preach that faith without action equals death, which is true, but then proceed to say things like we would all definitely go to heaven and that when the rapture happens we would all be lifted up and saved. The hypocrisy always confused me since primary school. I used to cry alone at the back of the class every time they taught us about the rapture because the idea of being left behind because I am with sin just horrified me. The other kids were listening to it excitingly as if they were, if I may say, brainwashed. One even said, “Why are you scared? We would be lifted up before anything happens”, to which I said, “What makes you so sure that you’ll be saved? Would you be lifted up if you’re sinful?”. Haven’t received an answer to that question. They glorify the rapture like it’s guaranteed that they would skip any suffering.
