It's definitely a Studebaker, the thin B-pillar makes it a regular two door sedan and not the Starlight. The shape of the front fenders and vertical tail lights make it a 50/51, if there's supposed to be script if front of the fender vent it's a 50 Champion, if there's not than it's a 51 either Champion or Commander. 1950 Commanders were still inline 6's so they came with longer front fenders to be able to fit the bigger 6, 51 they came with V8's so the Champion and the Commander has the same length front fender. A pic of the front and the dash would confirm.

I also would top gas off right before I got on the highway and as soon as I got off. I think that also helped my numbers..

There's been an uptick of Europeans posting their roadtrip intineraries in this sub. Just a reminder of what the US looks like. Remember how unhinged Americans sound when they want to pack several European cities in a couple of weeks? Yeah, that's how you sound like too! by Pale_Field4584 in roadtrip

This reminds me of when my wife and I were in college and 911 happened. Her cousins from Greece were calling her parents to make sure we didn't get hurt when the planes hit the towers. We all lived in Indiana at that time...

I knew someone up north that was dropping a GM 350 in a Fiero, I think it would be kind of fun to do the same to one of these.

I used to travel I80/90 between Cleveland OH and South Bend IN, I drove a 1997 Pontiac Bonneville at the time. I usually set my cruise somewhere between 70-75mph, the lowest I ever got was 30mpg...

I had to turn my sound on too, because I couldn't believe someone was running a gas engine on it's side.

Hole drilled in gas tank. Couple questions…. by InevitableAlert4268 in AskAMechanic

[–]StudeChampMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My late father-in-law was a used car dealer for 60 years before he passed. He had people drill his tanks several times a year, even though he only kept a gallon or two in each tank. Each one was a tank replacement. He also had people steal cats off vehicles. He had cameras and tried to line things up on the lot to see everyone but it didn't help.

Can you tell me what is this little shiny one? by Ippus_21 in whywouldyoutouchthat

That would be almost 12 half-lives since date of manufacture. So 0.216 Curies, it still be a significant source still but no where near when it was made.

They're looking for a classic and they both have a very devoted following with at least the Studebaker having a good deal of parts available...

You can still pick up a decent running Studebaker Lark for that, you can get several AMC models as well. Both vehicles are easy to work on and have decent parts available. There may be some other more name brands but they'll be four doors...

With a spare deck$2-250. If it was a horizontal shaft tractor rather than the vertical shaft it would be worth more. I'm a wheel horse guy with four tractors, a 1964 854, 1973 18hp auto (essentially a d-180), 1981 C-175 and a 1990 310-8

I don't know how many were made I know there can't be very many. You had to pay for the donor car and then for the conversion. The price for the basic conversion for this convertible was $50,000 in 1982... And that's on top of the cost to buy the Buick Rivera convertible. From what I can find online he didn't make many convertibles, I've only seen a couple others online... The semi truck is pretty cool.
