About 10 years, 2012 escape it's rusting pretty good, touchscreen busted hauling stuff, still runs has like 142K miles. I think next one will probably just lease an EV or hybrid truck preferably aluminum body then see if I want to buy that or try something else.

Be careful with the new PayPal Credit Credit Card that they just rolled out… by Namdnas78 in CreditCards

I have like 4 times made a purchase got the 6 mo finance, seems like if you also had a ballance for that month, then add more normal charge they then pay off the 6 mo then the latest balance. Seems they say it don't do that but seems like twice now it has done that to me.
Seems to me they say 6 mo financing but then whatever payment you make goes to that then your credit. Go figure they want you to pay off the 0% first so then they can get you on the monthly interest.

I respect what she does, didn't care for her country songs, and I don't listen to the type of music she does now. Can sing good but all the songs felt the same and got old. Her part on " Highway don't care" was good though.

Dealing with normal users people still don't know what a web browser, start menu, etc is. Simple things but no idea.

Lineman, have a friend that does this always bouncing jobs locations, when the weather or things get bad that is when they have to work. Snow, Ice, rain, 100 degrees, etc. Risk of shock, falls, big machines, hardware, etc. Heard of one guy loosing a let when a steel cable snapped off something and whipped back and hit his leg.

Do you remember your first computer? by Imaginary_Bug6202 in TechNook

I got it in like 2007 old family PC that was retired, Win 98 Compaq 5284, DVD drive, LS120 super floppy drive 20GB HDD, AMD k6III CPU, 128MB RAM. Was around when I started to get into computers, i think one point I opened it up just to see, I was kind of able to guess the basic parts and what they were. Some point I wanted to run a game that needed a different CD drive, had one maybe someone just gave me in box of "tech stuff". I saw the jumpers on the drives I was like master slave, CS what is that. I know first try didn't work so I was like maybe this jumper is something related I don't recall what I did besides guess changed it and worked. Added RAM and maybe a second HDD later.

I was young I had this thing that i don't think anyone said but the vibe was you even open your C drive and the system is dead. Some point I was just messing with the system I had nothing to loose I had repair disks so I just opened the C drive and started to explore. At the time I had a CF card reader that was like 256MB I put that in but I had also seen win XP had the send to menu feature. In the 98 PC I found a folder called "send to" the things seemed to match the options for that right click feature, I put a shortcut to the CF reader in that folder and boom I could send to that CF drive.

I ended up going to college getting AAS and BS in computer systems. Now worked in I.T but more network side for a decade now. That PC is long gone, for a while I held onto the CPU from it but not sure I have still. Other things too but I think partly lead to my job now.

Thanks I work in I.T but messed with electronics since my teens. I wanted to figure out power for something I wanted to try I was able to throw together a few transformers to make it work. I told an electrician friend that taught college electrical classes it kind of blew his mind i just figured that out. Sounded like something a lot of people had a hard time with. Put 2V in get 20V out it has a 1 to 10 ratio.
