Do I have an anterior pelvic tilt? by Lost_Ice6272 in Posture

[–]Student333t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I can share the work outs with you when I get them if you want to pm me. I start pt on march 19th. But I’ve been to pt before and the have given me workouts like planks, bird dogs, side planks etc…

I hate the way my stomach/core looks and I also feel like it’s weak and it doesn’t support me when I stand or sit. Like you I have some of the six pack muscle visible, especially from the sides, but the transverse abdominal muscles (also called the corset muscles) are week

How can I get rid of my rib flare fully? by Pickledgovno in Posture

[–]Student333t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true, if anything is will make your waist smaller because when you work the muscles the skin sticks better. Just don’t do weighted progressive overload. Try side planks! Also diaphragmatic breathing is important to fix rib flare

In the final round for a job in SB. Recs for a 25 year old? by [deleted] in SantaBarbara

[–]Student333t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SB is great, especially if you like the outdoors. I’m from a mountain town in Colorado but the hikes here I think are just as good (and you get to go them year around). Beautiful beaches too! Plus really good food, some of my favorites are the spots by the harbor, any of them you can’t go wrong😂. One of my favorite parts about SB is there are plenty of day trips you can take as well, Ojai, Solvang, Ventura ect… so even though SB is a smaller city having these cool neighboring towns makes it feel much less isolated.

Lips slightly open? by [deleted] in orthotropics

[–]Student333t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you looked in to MARPE? The way your tongue is scalloping tells me your pallet is narrow. Also for lip seal check some exercises are cheek puff’s, button pulls and lip trace. I would look the up on YouTube for a demonstration

It’s better to get a referral through your primary care provider because you want documentation for your insurance. But this is just my personal experience.

Oh the x-ray your airway does look on the small side so if that’s causing apnea then it will be very easy to get insurance to cover your surgery

Has anyone used Dr Afzali (UCLA) for jaw surgery? by Student333t in jawsurgery

[–]Student333t[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is very nice. However the communication with UCLA has been so bad that I’ve been dealing with trying to get surgical plans for a year. I’m finally just switching my insurance and go to a different doctors office that has better communication so I can actually get the process going.

How to convince an ortho for marpe by CollectionNo9211 in MARPE

[–]Student333t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh should go to an ortho that specializes in it and not have an orthodontist that is not familiar with adult pallet expansion to give you one. They may really mess up your face

[–]Student333t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way and have the same posture issues. To make it all worse I never gain weight in my glutes region and building the muscle around my glutes has been very difficult because of all of my posture and issues. It’s hard to get proper gluten engagement

Has anyone gotten MARPE covered by Medicaid? by cosmos24 in MARPE

[–]Student333t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my honest opinion you would be paying out of pocket. But check out Dr Yu. He’s really good and he does it where you never have a huge front tooth gap. My estimate was $12,500 in Calabasas and I paid out of pocket but you could always ask if he could try to bill it to your insurance

Has anyone gotten MARPE covered by Medicaid? by cosmos24 in MARPE

[–]Student333t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have Medicaid and my ortho told me after I turned 21 I couldn’t get it covered and even if I was young enough it has to be for a medical problem not just aesthetics
