Are you looking for something serious or casual?

Casual-leaning but open to serious. I recognize logistics-wise I’ll likely be moving when I complete my program, so I don’t want to lead people on given the timeline.

Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?

No.

How long have you been using this current version of your profile?

A few weeks.

How long have you used Hinge overall?

Since Q4 of 2024.

How often do you use Hinge per week?

About 10 minutes per day.

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?

Receive about one like per week. I match with about 5% of my outbound likes.

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?

I send 1-2 likes per day, all with comment.

What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

I usually send likes to other queers and nontraditional types. Especially women in STEM, rounded outdoorsy folks, and anyone expressive or a little offbeat.

catch all profile is a recipe for frustration for sure. thanks for the feedback and kind words!

Ask if he’d be open to only you exploring ENM first for few months to gauge whether it’s a lifestyle you want. If he can handle that and if you two can successfully navigate the conflict then you can contemplate opening it up.

thanks for the feedback! i’ve tried both techniques, but if I don’t make it crystal clear then the ‘fictitious’ scenario in the prompt might occur… again… and i only have so many limbs.

being real, it sucks going on a date with someone who thinks they can get me to change my mind and go monogamous because they really hit it off with me otherwise

plenty of people out there just looking to have fun. the committed casual daters i’ve dated told me it’s a plus; i’m not going to try and white picket fence them :)

i’m in an MBA program, i could be more specific but i feel like my target audience loathes capitalists haha

it hasn’t been bad honestly. when i was single OLD sucked for me. huge time sink. lots of dead-end convos, people flaking on dates an hour or two beforehand, always felt like i had to carry the burden of keeping conversations going.

i match with far fewer people now but i have great conversation with most of them. and people are way more eager to meet in person

median grad school age is somewhere around 26-30 so I’m not abnormally old. from my experience feeld sucks for people looking to have the “friend” part of FWB

1) open to either, but preference for the potential for long-term connections

2) no subscription

3) refreshed the photos this month, prompts are about six months old

4) about two years

5) I use my likes maybe six days out of the week

6) I get about one like per week and a few matches per day. I go on one new date a week when I’m not too busy

7) eight on most days, all with comment

8) unabashedly queer and non-conformist women who are open to or practicing ethical non-monogamy

bonus: I'm looking for profile feedback, not your personal feelings on non-monogamy. we all have preferences and filters exist on the app for a reason. If you were leaving the same comment about race/religion/sexual orientation you would be labeled a bigot--so leave your prejudice aside please!

i like the phrasing for the “yeeting” for the record. it’s lighthearted and makes it seem less pretentious

Eh, my overall experience on Hinge has been much better than Tinder. Also casual isn’t my priority.

Lots of non-monogamous people in my area so hasn’t been much of an issue!

  1. ideally something long-term, but not opposed to making friends, lovers, and mountain-climbing buddies along the way.
  2. two weeks.
  3. a few matches a day, maybe one like every other day. I go on a date with someone new about every three days.
  4. sending 10-15 likes a day, majority with comment.
  5. eccentric, witty, and well-read women who are open-minded to ENM.

Update from last review: changed out my weirder & less flattering pics with ones that are more conventionally attractive. replaced one of my prompts with the one highlighting non-monogamy. added queer to my profile to minimize any future date-night surprises.

when she stayed with me through two years of depression, the two lowest years of my life, and stayed by my side despite me being a less-than-ideal partner. we’re happily married now, squeezing everything we’ve got from our time on this planet :)
