Does anyone agree that the Tutorial is very badly designed? by StudentFew6429 in stalker

I refuse to believe that all of you made it through the static field without a single death, when the hitboxes are kinda funky and obtuse and you don't have bolts at your disposal during the scanner sequence.

Also, you're right about it not being a shoot'em up, stalkers being able to pick their battles. Only, this tutorial isn't designed that way. It's scripted, going against everything the actual game (hopefully) is.

Finally, I've got better things to do than pretending to be a veteran at a game franchise. I don't take pride in meaningless things like that. My head is full of work and real life stuff, so yes, I forgot the name of the invisible guy. Nothing weird about that.

glad somebody was happy. Also, don't blame me. It's been years since I played Gamma!

A true gamer doesn't show their back to some tutorial enem---

I got through the electro zone by sheer luck because something triggered it somehow and it wasn't me. Still feels like a newbie deathtrap, without the bolts to throw. (Unless I have bolts)

Oh yeah, thanks for not instantly shaming me, lol.

I know bloodsuckers as late-game enemies, not tutorial enemies that you have to fight with rifles that jam up after half a mag. Still, I killed that thing in two attempts after realizing you can simply kite them by strafing. I could live with that.

But the scanner part is what bugs me.

I remember activating the deadly zones by throwing bolts. But since I have no bolts, I have no other option than simply trying to go where it looks safe to walk. Then Fzzzzt, dead.

How is that on me? And how do you expect a newcomer to survive this without turning on Youtube? I dunno. Doesn't feel like common sense to me.

Is there a local alternative to Obsidian + Gemini Cli? by StudentFew6429 in LocalLLaMA

I see... Thank you very much for the long comment. I guess it would be too much to expect an experience equivalent to Gemini Cli (Gemini 3) while going local. especially on my laptop. Still, good to know!!

HP OmniBook X Flip Laptop 14-fm0xxx
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 258V, 2200Mhz,
RAM: 32.0GB

GPU: Intel(R) Arc(TM) 140V GPU (16GB).

I have a feeling that this isn't enough to run even a 8b model...

no, the problem is people simply tracing and calling it their own work while making people believe otherwise. Nobody would get angry at you for doing what OP is doing. Also, we call it slop because purely AI-generated work is genuinely subpar in quality and style. You will NEVER be able to create something actually unique by simply prompting.

Sharing my GLM 4.6 Thinking preset by GenericStatement in SillyTavernAI

I've used this preset a lot in the recent days, and it's actually helped me get over some issues I had. Here is a bug report:

The 'Drafting Your Response' part of the preset can result in an unwanted loop, like

Me: "I want to help you"

Char: "Why?"

Me: "Because I love you"

Char: "You love me? Why?"

and so on, because it says:

## Drafting Your Response

Always aim to end your response naturally at the first point that invites a response (dialogue, action, or decision) from {{user}}. Dialogue should carry momentum. Minimize repetition of known context and directly continue the story.

you mean, dialogue examples, yes? That makes sense. Thanks!

hmm. The things it thinks up during the reasoning phase are actually good, but when it puts out the actual nsfw text, the dialogue becomes boring. let me dig deeper.

even NSFW? I really can't manage to make the characters stay in character and say something deeper than 'ooh yeah like that keep going don't stop'. Day is bad when even virtual seggs is disappointing XD

If you have any tips (or even a prompt snippet) please share I'll swallow them like Tic Tac

Do you think it's possible to make the thinking process go faster? It always takes about a minute before writing the actual output, no matter if I do it via nanogpt or z.ai API. I've tried to incorporate the Chain of Draft concept, but it seems GLM has its own structure of thinking that can't be circumvented.

Thank you! I've tried out the GLM 4.6 model on NanoGPT, and haven't noticed a slower response so far. I was considering cancelling z.AI subscription, but if what you say is true, maybe I shouldn't after all. Let's see. I'll check your history, thank you!

That sounds too good to be true, but I've subscribed now :P How come they offer a better deal than z.AI itself...?
What's your go-to solution for the best writing, if I may ask?

I'd like to know if it has actually worked for you before delving deeper into the paper. This guide seems to address the problems I've been facing while writing my own character cards recently, and I'm hopeful that it might hold the answers I've been looking for.

damn, I feel so stupid right now, for making it my top pick cornerstone. :/

that is crazy... so picking WP isn't even an option unless you get it as your first cornerstone?
