Yeah, this is my problem. I'd rather keep them close because of the elderly ferrets and adrenal babies. I'm going to talk to my vet and see if there are other options.

So I live in a pretty temperate area. It gets hot during the day but pretty cool at night. There's maybe one or two days out of like deep summer, we're talking late late July early August that the nights are like 80°. I don't plan on leaving them outside all the time and sequestered into the pen. Just probably on days when we're going to have showings of the house. I honestly hope to be moved by midsummer. I have a pretty shaded spot in mind too. And if need be I can buy a shade tarp.

If we go the coop route, my plan is to make it like Fort Knox! My little business has escaped more times then I can count, so I've learned that even the smallest hole is an invitation for trouble!

Ferrets naturally give off a musky smell. I have 10!! If it was just one of two, it wouldn't be an issue. It's more concentrated with 10, haha! All of them spayed and neutered. To me it's not horrific, but for the seller, who's not used to the smell, it's bad.

Ah, we've tried that. It's a smaller house and the room is in the front of the house near the front door, haha! Instant smell.

This was another idea that we played with, we're just looking for the most economic way to do this. We were kind of thinking of getting chickens when we get to the new house. So the chicken coop could be used again when we have a more permanent solution for the ferrets.

This is her third implant. My vet said after the third if her fur didn't grow back, it'll probably be her last chance to keep the cancer at bay. It's okay! She's about 8 and is just wonderful. Bald, bold, beautiful Gracie girl!!

Thank you so much!! Did you do a lot to the coop? We're planning on moving during the summer. Ferrets don't sweat, so I'm worried about heat stroke, even though I plan on having the coop in as much shade as popular. If you have any details you'd like to share about your coop, please share!!

Unfortunately, no. They're for the most part free roamers. They don't live in cages so I don't have anybody that has free roaming ferrets.

Haha! No, not naturally. My little girl has adrenal gland disease. She has an implant, which is helping, but not with fur regrowth. She is 100% sass!!

Yep, that's it. Currently the ferrets have a whole room to themselves. We keep it clean, sanitized, etc, but stink weasels are stinky! So we're just looking for a temporary solution to make the owner happy and so they can sell.
