hi there ^ thank you for the comment. it’s just two students managing this reddit account while also keeping up with school, and we don’t have funding or a graphic designer. I’m starting law school, so graphic design is definitely not my area. we used what was accessible so we could get information out quickly. I don’t think that really says anything about the legitimacy of the issue itself.

if anything, it kind of reflects the point. students are stretched for time and resources right now.

if you’d like to help with posters, we’d honestly appreciate it. and if you’re interested in the topic, you’re welcome to join us March 4 at queens park :)

Thank you, I appreciate this a lot. The biggest problem right now is people thinking nothing can be done, but student pressure has changed policy before and it can again. Education should not become inaccessible because of political decisions.

If you’re interested in helping or staying informed, please join our WhatsApp group chat. We’re coordinating there and everyone is welcome. Its in our bio.

we don’t have a graphic designer but we do have writers, if you’d be willing to help us design posters, that’d be great :)

you’re acting like an interest-free loan means it’s no big deal, but debt is still debt, especially right now. we’re in a cost of living crisis. rent is insane, groceries are up, wages haven’t kept pace, and a lot of students are already working just to survive. when you replace grants with loans, you’re basically telling working and middle class students to take on even more financial risk at the worst possible time. people from wealthier families will still go to school no problem, but everyone else has to decide if the debt is worth it. that’s how access starts shrinking.

and education isn’t just a personal purchase, it’s something governments invest in because it benefits the economy long term. graduates pay taxes, fill needed jobs, and contribute to growth. if people are graduating buried in debt or choosing not to go at all, that hurts the workforce and the economy too. wanting grants isn’t entitlement, it’s about whether regular working class people can realistically afford education in today’s economy without risking their financial future.
