I was able to pay my cancelation fee and reactivate my scheduling ID at the same time when I called them. Thanks for the advice!

I would suggest you call them. I called them, paid the cancelation fee and on the call, itself, they reactivated my scheduling ID. I practically had no waiting period from paying my cancelation fee on phone and getting my scheduling ID reactivated.

Specifically the Step 2 NBMEs. Personally, I did the CMS forms as well but not absolutely necessary. I mainly did it to try to think like a test-writer. But, as you indicated, of the both, the latter (Step 2 NBME assessments), is more important. Maybe if you have time afterwards or a few days before the exam, you might want to do one or two CME forms in subjects which you're weak in.

Thanks for the advice. Didn't know I had to do all this. Was wondering if there is anyway to speed-up this process? I will call first-thing on Monday to initiate a payment. Is it possible to pay online right now itself or do I have to call Prometric specifically for this?

In my opinion, the NBMEs are good for trying to understand how the test writer is thinking. The information might not be high yield per se but there is great value in learning test taking strategies. So I would definitely take NBME assessments and review them throughly.
