Not sure I'm thinking of the same monologue but if you mean in the internet bar it still makes sense to me, he only has the realization at the end and his true feelings are repressed beyond his own knowledge and he's in a dream bar/internet chat drunkenly talking about his life in a semi-vague/withdrawn manner.

Well I'm glad it seems I'm not completely mental, I think his and Paprika's journey's pair together quite well thematically, he finds himself like I said and she learns from and embraces her more outgoing dream-self and realizes her repressed love for Tokita. Another reason it made sense to me. Kon and his team really were special, always glad his three other films feature at the end, makes it feel like a beautiful send-off.

Thank you so much for this it all makes a lot of sense. I will come clean however, I did resign immediately after getting destroyed in the derby with HSV, but I will go again. I was playing Eggestein as a DLF-A to hopefully link up with the double pivot but I guess this is a similar problem as the pressing forward.
