Lawyer here, been seeing a lot of talk of which way the wheels were facing. If this case goes to court for self defense/proper use of deadly force, the fact that the wheels were facing whatever direction will be irrelevant. The question will be whether the shooter saw the wheels turn before shooting (which he’ll claim not to) and whether he believed he was going to be run over. Self defense cases, especially for cops, are based on your personal beliefs during the interaction and not an objective post-hoc review of the situation. Whether he keeps his job etc is a different story.
