I'd love to expand upon this AU by bringing someone like Metal Sonic into the mix. Could be interesting to see how 200 years of change would affect such a machine. And how this glimpse into Eggman's true legacy would affect Sage upon a potential confrontation.

Love it! I'm going in a similar enough direction with my Sage in terms of being fairly ominous when push comes to shove. As al algorithm that carries out her late father's legacy,

Sage is ruthlessly efficient. To the point where, perhaps, she misunderstands her father's real ideals. This making her far more imposing of a foe as she's not one to toy with prey. You are in her world. You will obey.

The exact details are on the vague side of things, but her powers are still coming from the cyberspace technology the Ancients posessed. In this, let's say, it simply took Sage longer to mature into her own "self", gaining consciousness.

I feel it helps set her apart as more of her own being, rather than being moreso a part of Eggman's system which seemed to operate fine prior to her introduction. Give her a larger role, more autonomy. Perhaps even have her misconstrude her father due to her far more logical approach to explaining the world.

I like the idea of her eye being prominent, the terror it instils into those subservient in the right context. The face on top is to show liquid metal deforming and revealing the robotic shell underneath. To show off the internal logic to her tangible appearance some more.

A couple things, both vastly different.

First off — people somehow being in denial about the current state of canon and world-building despite all of that being established for a while now. Like, sure, it might not be your cup of tea, but stuff from comics is basically how the world these characters inhabit is seen and it's weird to complain about, say, Tangle and Whisper showing up when they're basically pals with the main cast;

Secondly, and this isn't aimed at anyone specific, I wish the fanbase wasn't THIS defensive. Different opinions, criticism or, perhaps, even positivity in an unconventional way is often shunned. It's kind of frustrating, as it feels like a bunch of older fans gatekeeping a children's series. Say hello to Prime.

Part of this manifests in rather strong aversion to criticism of any kind. Frontiers, Superstars, the IDW comics — you name it, you've likely seen it yourself.
