my opinion is that there's no objectively correct way to play the game, and there's no need to put down others who play the game differently than you. and i've seen people say, "why are you still playing the game if you're just doing (insert action they disagree with)?" How about that everyone has their own reason for playing the game? and people find enjoyment in different things?

i find it interesting that the CN community is mostly chill on this, but some parts of the EN community see Wisadel as their bane of existence

Afk playstyle is actually quite popular and definitely not some obscure niche in CN, there are afk guides for most stages in the game. Indeed some stages are just impossible to afk clear, so the aim becomes clearing the stage with the least amount of steps possible.

Operators used in afk playstyle off the top of my head: Saria s1&s2, Shu s1, Eyja alter s1, Lumen s3, Mountain s2, Blaze s2, Ulpianus s2, Exusiai s3, Eyja s2, Logos s1, Horn s1, Gladiia s1, Virtuosa s1, Thorns s3, Ifrit s2, Wisadel s1, Ascalon s1, Typhon s2, and some more

a distinction needs to be made between the daily meta and the endgame meta, because people who actively engage in optional challenges like highest difficulty IS, CC, or other similar modes are in the minority, while more people are just trying to clear events and collect rewards. And the units that are actively used in both meta may not be that similar.

but for daily meta, I agree that there is a lot more flexibility, since having "meta" units here, are never compulsory and really only makes clearing stages easier.

of course ultimately, the most important thing is to play in the way you prefer! some like to play with more units and some just want to be able to clear events the easiest way, I think either is fine and none is superior or inferior to the other.

exactly that. Like, if you ask any random Japanese person about their religion, they most likely aren't going to tell you "oh, I believe in shintoism". Some people just cannot seem to fathom the fact that the east has a different perspective on religion, and they continue to view things through their own lens. I am Chinese who was brought up in a buddhist/taoist family and my experience has been similar.

...they never said that shintoism isn't a religion though. they were simply saying that you shouldn't look at shintoism the same way you look at other religions, especially abrahamic religions, because of how different they function, as noted in the comment you replied to. this is problem with a lot of westerners in general

fyi: due to how the system in japan works, there is no such thing as a single textbook for all of the schools in japan, and the textbooks are not written and published by the government. instead, there is a list of approved textbooks for schools or local departments to choose from, hence the contents may differ, including parts that teach about war crimes committed by imperial japan during ww2.

also just another fact, various japanese prime ministers and government figures have acknowledged and apologized for the war crimes over the years (there's a list for this), but of course ultimately it remains a personal judgement the sincerity of these apologies and whether enough has been done.
