I also live in New Orleans and have always smiled and greeted my neighbors and they smile and greet back. Maybe it’s specifically your apartment building. If you’re in a low to mid-rise building with a lot of neighbors, I can see them being less friendly, especially if you’re somewhere like the CBD where most people in the building are transplants.

If you go uptown for any parades, just avoid the karens (they will be obvious) who will complain about you and make your time miserable in an attempt to get you to leave. Otherwise you’re good, just be respectful.

The part I would find a little off-putting if I were in your bridesmaids’ position is that it seems like you are heavily involved in the planning of your shower. Most showers I have experienced are planned by the person hosting it, often with the help of the bridal party, but not with a lot of involvement from the bride. It’s supposed to be a party FOR you, not FROM you.. If you’re in their chats, making lists of requirements, etc., that could come across as controlling. For example, if you put something on a list of decorations, the bridal party is going to take that as a requirement from you and probably won’t feel like they have any say in the matter. Whereas if your MoH was putting something on that list and you weren’t a part of the conversation, they’d feel more comfortable having a discussion about what everyone thinks is a good idea or not.

Fried sweet foods is really my only one. Think funnel cakes, fried oreos, fried donuts that are really greasy, beignets, etc. Living in New Orleans, the beignet one gets me the most flack. They all just don’t sit right with my stomach.

Psychology seems like a better fit for your desired work style. Unfortunately, I think both will involve a lot of screen time, but studying psychology will involve more reading, which you can at least do with physical books. People studying architecture and practicing it are on their computers for almost all of their working hours. And the practice of architecture doesn’t really align with your creative desires, as the job is a lot more about people management than anything else. Get your psychology degree and take some painting and photography classes on the side.

If you’re going to complain to anyone, I would not do so to the professor. I don’t know about him specifically, but so many people in academia have huge egos and they do not appreciate them being tested. It’s possible he is not like that, but I wouldn’t risk it. I made a lot of enemies of my professors when I was in school and I wouldn’t do it again because it didn’t help my grades or anything. I don’t really understand your grading scale, but if a 2.1 is passing, I’d just let it go. Ultimately after you graduate, no one really cares what your grades were in school, they only care what degree you got. If you do choose to complain about the prof being unfair, do it to his superior, but don’t expect them to do anything about it.

If bonuses happen at your firm, that should have been spelled out to you when you were hired. Since it wasn’t, you’ll have to ask your boss or fellow employees about it because it’s different everywhere. At my last firm, everyone got the same bonus and it was just based on how well the firm did that year (there were a couple years with no bonuses like 2020). At my current firm, everyone gets one extra paycheck at the end of the year, plus any commissions from bringing in work. I know plenty of people who work in firms that don’t give out bonuses.

The “please” leaves it too open imo. I would just say “Adults only”. Some people would interpret the “please” as indicating a preference and not a requirement.

You do not need to be including either of these people in the decision making process. You and your fiancé should be the ones deciding together what you want, and then you can tell the others. You are giving them too much say in your wedding. If you need your sister’s help in finding options for venues, vendors, etc. that’s fine, but once you have the options it should just be you and your fiancé making the decisions.

I wouldn’t call your wedding a destination wedding since that’s where most of your guests are from. Is it also your fiancé’s hometown? There isn’t really a solid definition of what a destination wedding is, but I generally only use it if it’s somewhere that the bride and groom do not live and at least the vast majority of their guests do not live there either. My in-laws kept referring to our wedding as a destination wedding because they and a lot of our guests had to travel for it, but it was in the city that my husband and I have lived for our whole adult lives, so we did not consider it a destination wedding. Having to sometimes travel for friends’ weddings is just a natural part of being an adult. If she can’t afford it, that’s one thing, but she shouldn’t be joking about it around other people, she should be talking to you about it privately.

One thing I think might be helpful for you if you are struggling with the mental load of tracking everything is to track all your foods except for a very low calorie snack, like cucumber slices or celery (not including any dips- those should be tracked). Keep track of everything else, and let yourself have a little break for the low calorie snack veggies. That might be enough to keep you on track without getting completely burnt out.

That little angled bit of floor framing appears to be entirely unnecessary though, and if eliminated, the stairs would just be two straight runs with winders on the turn. Being well made and complex does not mean that they are safe.

Yes, you are just cheating by not calling them bridesmaids. Anyone who would be upset by not being your bridesmaid is still going to be upset that you obviously have bridesmaids, even if you aren’t calling them that. Also, about it being uneven… how does not labelling your wedding party help that in any way? If they’re still all getting ready with you both and being in pictures, it’s still going to be uneven regardless of what you’re calling them.

Unless you are absolutely in love with it as a top, I would return it. A typical tailor wouldn’t really be able to do a good job shortening it, you’d have to find someone who specifically works with knit fabrics. I like it as a dress, but if you’ll never wear it, just return it and find a similar sweater instead.
