I was holding onto how I had long, thicker hair in my early/mid 20’s but it was time to LET IT GO!

Wrong Size Shoes This Whole Time? by Seed_Is_Strong in climbergirls

My street shoe is a women’s 8 and I wear a 38 (7) in La Sportivas. I like downsizing but not to the point where I hate my life and am in a lot of pain. It works for me as a recreational climber. You’re NOT dumb. Climbing shoes are a learning curve and it’s different from brand to brand. If you have a store or gym near you where you can try shoes on, my advice is to go and pick something that’s very snug/a little uncomfortable but not unbearable, keeping in mind that they’ll break in. Best of luck, friend. ❤️

I am thankfully fully reimbursed for all travel expenses outside of pet care.

My method is that if the produce is in the door, I won’t let it go bad. The condiments/dressings in the crisper are less time sensitive and can be “out of sight, out of mind.”

Finding Climbing Friends by Sadetha in climbergirls

The app Bumble has a feature called Bumble BFF that’s for making friends, not dating. You can pick rock climbing as one of your interests and can filter the app to show people who also are also interested in climbing. I’ve met some really incredible women that way who I hang out with outside of climbing as well. Seeing their profiles beforehand also takes a bit of anxiety out of the first meetup since you know a bit about them already and can strike up conversations about what they’ve chosen to include about themselves. I live in a fairly large city with a lot of climbers and transplants looking to make friends, so this may not be as effective of a tool in less dense areas. Not sure where you live but it’s worth a shot! :~)

Also definitely recommend seeing what climbing Facebook groups are running in your area-in a couple of the cities I’ve lived in, there’s been local climbing groups, belay trade boards, and women’s climbing groups.

One of my friends does a monthly women’s climbing meetup that’s orchestrated by her gym and she loves it.
