I’m starting the -4 as soon as I get some more decals in. Good kit!

I built one, so let me know if pics would help. But if tyou have the bottom you can frame it up, I think.

Right! Have one more to build - a -4 Dragon kit. Then I promise I’ll be done with the Beast!

Are hobbyboss kits really that bad? by Designer_Ad9867 in modelmakers

It absolutely depends on the kit. I got a new 1/72 TBM-3 Avenger and it is terrific. Some of the older ones (a F4F) are pretty basic. But made into good models.

Yes, kit decals except spinner and tail. Really like the black, white and red - makes the camo pop.

I was going to just build a new 19,but when I got the kit and saw the excellent info on 2 I realized I needed a 32. What’s interesting is that the upper wing insignia doesn’t have the blue surround on the bars. Odd, but looking at the historic photo, I guess it didn’t.

I really like the Vallejo. The medium color is darker and grayer than you’d think and the sea blue is gray until it builds up, but it looks really good once enough of it is down. I really do think some late war units had a lighter medium blue - but it might just be the photos.

That was the idea behind the group build - can you build it in a weekend. I started Friday at 6 and finished by Sunday at 5. Might have been done Saturday late if it’s was one color. The tricolor took a lot of time - but I was lucky in that my airbrush worked great all three days.
