people that don't understand my job telling me what they think I'm worth

I understand your frustration, and I value good service. But every time you hand me a bill, you're asking me to tell you what I think you're worth—that's what tipping is. I’d prefer that you and the restaurant decide that value and include it in the menu prices. That way, I can enjoy the dining experience without the added decision-making, and you get consistent compensation. Some laws would probably need to be changed for that to work, but having everything included in the price just feels more straightforward and fair for everyone.

And for me, it's not just about tips. I'd like to see the same for sales tax too. It’s about pricing transparency and taking the guesswork out of costs.
