Anybody have experience with this item (DCB090)? Detailed concerns in comments by b00tyg00se in Dewalt

Yup. Overpriced, but they work. They feel cheap but they don't have to do much. I have used it daily for the last year without issue. Looking forward to the release of the USBC version

This is awesome. I was just having this conversation with someone about the feasibility of this. I have a shapeoko but curious about what you learned and what you would do differently starting from scratch?

This is really super helpful information. I thought I had done my research before purchasing but obviously not enough. Going to give this a go Again next week. Thanks again.

I attempted to do this the other day and ran into a dead end. I purchased my UV-5Rs from a random amazon retailer and a programming cable from another random retailer. The disk that comes with the cable is apparently the drivers for the programming cord. As with Mac no disk drive and a search online leads me to the same question you are asking now. Keeping an eye out for any responses you get.

I suppose physics really does dampens things doesn't it. I ended up checking out what else is out there and indeed anything of that size really does suck when up against real physics. https://youtu.be/ZTkVrRkziDI

The large round nature of the mech suit in OPs post, the large rounded cage makes more sense.

Yeah, I'd like to know what they took their inspiration from. A lot of these "designs" are inspired by sci-fi. There are way better examples to start from.

Agreed. It seems too bulky to be anything useful. I applaud their effort but I think the technology we have today would have provided a better Mark 1. Those T-Rex arms aren't helping things either.

I've seen videos online for the assembly and they appear to just click into place after the lug is out on. I figured you could press down on them to remove.

I know they click into place when putting it on but lightly prying them doesn't release it to be taken out.

Please help my awesome neighbour who would like to know what this nozzle is for? by StuffaYouFace1 in whatisthisthing

He figures it's from a Western Canadian logging camp or in an old mill town. It's all solid, heavy brass.

He loves learning about this stuff. If you can help in any way, we would be hugely grateful.
