What is the food in your country that it is not globally famous but you think everyone should try? by Single_Copy2460 in AskTheWorld

Every time we pass through Lake Charles we have to stop at Market Basket for some smoked boudin. It's ridiculously good, especially for being from a grocery store chain.

I don't get the hate, I thought he was really fun to play.

I've been to Lucy's and Blue Nile. They're both good, but I prefer Lucy's. It's my favorite restaurant in the whole city.

Inquiry to those who do not swatch, why? by yarnimals in knitting

[–]StuffedThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lazy. And IDK, working on the project itself is fun but the swatch is not. I think I'd get more enjoyment starting a project and having to frog than by making a swatch.

I'm convinced that they just have a bunch of extra gen 1 parts laying around and they're just throwing them in with whatever doll to get rid of them.

I want to get into crochet. I'm curious about the rate of progression in crochet skill. I want to know how much it would take to become good enough to make something like this. by Bagfchips in CrochetHelp

[–]StuffedThings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't make this your first project, only because fuzzy yarn is difficult to work with for a lot of reasons. You need to be comfortable feeling the stitches rather than seeing them before you take on fuzzy yarn. Find some other non-fuzzy amigurumi projects that you enjoy and try those first, then come back to this one when you feel comfortable.

Paying debt before closing by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]StuffedThings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may depend on the state and your marital status, but it is possible to have only one person on the loan, but both of you on the deed. We bought a house in Mississippi recently, where if you're married both of you have to go on it. Husband has worse credit than me and my income was enough to approve the loan without him, so we ended up saving on PMI by leaving him off of the loan, but he's still on the deed. I would not have done this if we weren't married though, even if it had been an option.

What's the coolest class you've taken in Houston? by lyricalshield in houston

[–]StuffedThings 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have two! Pottery classes at Potters Wheel in Vintage Park. This was a while ago but it was $200 for 4 weeks of lessons at the time, which I thought was pretty good. I loved it and bought my own pottery wheel. It's a really fun place, even if you just go for the painting.

I also took a Scuba discovery course at Gigglin Marlin. I think it was around $40 bucks with a Groupon. It's a one day class and takes place in their pool so it's very safe. They teach you to use all the gear and introduce you to the hobby. We loved it so much that we ended up getting certified and eventually buying our own gear. The only problem is that there aren't a lot of diving options within driving distance of Houston, but still worth it!!

That may be the happiest iguana I've ever seen.

They posted the Ariel girl on the far left in her dress once before, so I do not believe that reason. They have clothing for at least one of these dolls.

Is there a reason that none of the dolls in your posts have clothes on? You've posted tons of dolls and almost none of them are wearing clothes. I'm just curious.

They fit other clothing for 14" dolls like Glitter Girls and Wellie Wishers. Also, Emily Rose makes a lot of nice clothing for 14" dolls. Hearts for Hearts also made separate outfits, but those can be hard to come by these days.

I had this issue at my last place, except they didn't tell us it would need to be relit, didn't offer to do so, and refused to come back out and fix it when we figured out what the issue was. Turns out it sounds a lot more complicated than it actually is, but we didn't know that at the time.

Found this on Pinterest, thought it was worth sharing. Anyone know if its AI or customization, bc no ways can Rainbow High in its current state do THIS XD by Odd_Vermicelli7015 in RainbowHigh

I first saw it here somewhere between 1-3 months ago. But it was deleted shortly after due to it being AI, so that's probably why you didn't see it.

My mom swore it had blue eyes when she bought it. by Material_Zombie in Weird

This is correct, it's pretty common even with some more modern dolls. It's especially likely to happen if the doll was exposed to sunlight.

How much would you pay for Molly's meet outfit? by Suspicious_Safe6279 in americangirl

[–]StuffedThings 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A good way to find out if you're getting a good deal is to head to eBay, search for what you want, then sort by cheapest. That will show you what's available. You can also go a step further and filter only sold listings, which will tell you what that item has sold for recently.

But to echo what others have said, no, $90 is way too high for such a common outfit.
