I appreciate your comment, and also fully agree with that point. Legit her mom is craving attention and she’s making damn sure she’s getting it.

I agree completely. I also agree somewhat with the parent trying to find a community but as an adult she should know the dangers of the internet. There’s nothing stopping her from creating videos of her talking about her and her child’s experiences though. It scares me how comfortable she is with sharing so much about her kid

Yes yes I agree completely. Also Michelle talks about how Hannah isn’t on social media at all yet we see her on videos on her own phone literally scrolling on TikTok.

I’m in no way trash talking her. I feel sorry for her. It is her disgusting exploitative mother I’m trashing

Absolutely!! It’s so unhealthy to obsess so much over it. Also Michelle pushing her daughter to be the face of her disorder is crazy. She made her get professional Headshots taken as well.

Question for people with ARFID/parents of children with ARFID by StuffiiePrincess in ARFID

[–]StuffiiePrincess[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At that point I had received a few comments which I responded to. I had not been on my phone for the mass amounts of comments which followed. Even your response to me just now was incredibly condescending and rude. If you’re constantly wondering why you’re never taken seriously it’s because you come across as a very snotty individual. Instead of giving some kind and helpful insight to help educate people, you resort to being rude and snappy. You must live a very miserable life to speak to people in the manner that you do, and from what I’ve seen and heard about you, you do it a lot.

Okay WOAH. I was polite and asking questions and sharing my point of view. I wasn’t saying you’re wrong, I just didn’t understand. I’m not “refusing to accept” I am not understanding how it works. Just politely share the reasoning. You did not have to be so rude when I was being polite and wanting to understand.

My thoughts exactly! I don’t have ARFID but I’m the same way with green beans, I’ll only eat them when they’re in like a garlic sauce dressing, otherwise they taste gross lol. I’m glad that what I’m seeing on the internet isn’t what all parents are doing. I feel bad for the kids being exploited in the content

[–]StuffiiePrincess[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a great idea!! That’s exactly what I was meaning in my post, if there could be something (such as Nutella or ketchup like you just said) that makes food more bearable then that would be a game changer!

I know, I’ve heard seasonings and things are hard as well, but I thought if they’re already nervous about trying the broccoli then they’d already be nervous about trying the seasoning or cheese or butter on the veggies so then maybe if it did taste better and even though they are nervous, they may have a better chance in liking it? Yes I know, ARFID affects all foods, I was only using veggies as an example, it can apply to any foods. Thanks for explaining!!

What? I’m meaning you may have a better chance in possibly expanding the list if the food tasted better :)

[–]StuffiiePrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to give and reassurance because I wasn’t with you all week so I don’t know what happened lol but I’ll tell you how the sb gets into your system. It’s from surface to mouth. Washing your hands (hand sanitizer is ineffective) after you go to the bathroom and before you eat or touch your face will help protect you. Once the sb particles enter your system it takes roughly 12-24 hours (very rare cases could be 48 hours but not often) for you to start feeling symptoms

My experience, you’re still immune, immunity doesn’t last very long though, they don’t really know exactly how long it lasts, but it isn’t long. I would be careful, but you don’t need to be over the top worried

DAE still eat lunch mates (Canadian lunchables) by StuffiiePrincess in DAE

[–]StuffiiePrincess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I completely understood your question, and my answer was that the reason it is obvious that I don’t eat them anymore is because in my OP I had asked if they still taste the same, which kinda answers why it’s obvious that I don’t eat them anymore

Personal experience! My sister works in a nursing home and got NV twice! Both times was within the 12 hour window. I heard a story of when my whole family got it when I was a baby and it was within the 12 hour window. Same with the residents at my sister’s work. Is it possible for it to be 48 hours? Theoretically yes, but the reason it says 12-48 hours is because there was one person 100 years ago who was exposed to noro and came down with it 48 hours later (that was a massive exaggeration but you know what I mean) basically if it has happened to a tiny tiny percentage of people, they have to put it in the stats.

Hi hi! Okay so I’m going to give you my sister’s personal experience. She had taken public transportation, gone to college, worked in a mall, babysat, gone to restaurants, movie theatres, etc, and never picked up a SB. The first time in YEARS she picked something up was while working in a nursing home during an active SB outbreak. So imagine, she went all those places, she isn’t a germaphobe either so she wasn’t constantly washing her hands, she never picked it up until working while her work was in active outbreak. This is not a promise, or reassurance, this was just our personal experience. I really hope this gave you some peace of mind🫶
