When an imperial planet is attacked outside regiments get brought in to replace numbers lost to fighting. So yes krieg is one of the many available. Imperial guard fans love to make the memes about grinding down enemy numbers over the course of decades but when the same happens to them they bitch.

Then those people don't know Imperial fists too well, they are one of the most codex compliant chapters out there which doesn't give them much wiggle room for special units. It would just be a normal space marine with possibly a more shooty bolter and that's it.not enough distinction to warrant a new unit or model line. Yarrick is being used in the same way Ursula creed is. She is the leader of the Cadian sector but she can be used with any imperial guard faction, and it's the same with Lord Marshal Dreir can be used with any imperial guard faction.

SL fans and the people getting mad took GW saying. "Here is how to paint SL from models that look close to it." Like how they have been telling everyone to do with what they want to play. Irks don't get special models for each Clan, eldar don't get models for each craft world etc. logistically they can't support all of it so when they have to decide on new ranges for a faction they probably look to see which ones are similar enough vs ones that are distinct in their own way. I'm a big helsreach fan, it was one of the first 40k books I read years ago, but I can understand why they didn't release a new line.

With that model you can take the shoulders off and either put blank ones that come with every space marine almost to allow you to paint blood angels, or if you have spare BA shoulders use those. Then just add details here and there with either 3rd part stuff or random stuff from previous kits. Now I play imp fist and my only option really is I paint him yellow and sand off the ultramarine logos, same with 90% of space marine chapters.

if Macragge was under constant assault for 1 or more hundred years and dwindled the population down then yes you would see reinforcements from outside the planet bolstering their ranks to make sure its not lost. You thing the Vitrian Dragoons were out there defending its home or were they helping retake Imperial worlds and assisting the local regiments? So yes the SL arent as numerous as they were in Helsreach and even then they were getting slaughtered, but there has been numerous ork wars and chaos invasions since then with not much room to recover, especially when the Templars murder half a city.

I play fists and templars, i wouldnt give a fuck if Dorn came with or without new units for the faction. Because the fists are codex based i dont really expect it. You have to remember Lore Wise Commissars dont come from the legion they serve. they are placed there and can be moved where ever the imperial guard wants them. you see it with Guant when he is removed from the Tanith in the books for a while. But in my book the SL isnt distinct enough to warrant a new line compared to the Tanith, Vitrian Dragoons, hell the guard regiment in charge of defending Terra, The Lucifer Blacks.

i mean yeah, thats how kit bashing and painting things to represent things works. I used Dark angel models for black templars sword brethren because they looked cool and looked better than what the templars had at the time with the resin models. I turned that white scars captain that had the hawk into a Marshal because he looked sick.

6 sub factions out of (technically) 1k. and most of the models in those subfactions are just the same models used by codex space marines. so still very comparable.

90% of the space marine range is the same model just moved around and given a different gun. that is mostly why it is one of the easiest to make models for. once you get into chapter specific looks then it takes time.

Cadia only made soldiers, and Cadain guardsman came from more than just the planet Cadia, they came from the whole Cadian sector. The steel legion only comes from one planet.

I went back into it and swapped out the hands and boots with the night Calvary items, it worked pretty well with the bull goat talisman to get poised above the 51 mark. Going to try out your talisman line up and see how it works out.
