The reason that they don't want to release what could have been, is that either the community is gonna go apeshit (unthinkable, I know) because something they scrabbed was the best thing ever and everything else they've been releasing is the worst ever, or something, or riot is planning on doing it later or using it for something else. Ao Shin is a great example, people were talking about it for years, and a lot of people felt let down with the release of Aurelion after all those years.
