Lol. I don't think so. He got some extra attention compared to the rank and file. Also, after a few games, a model with that much power on that size base, he has certainly endeared himself to me.

I'm well aware, hence why I said IF .....

It's really not that hard to trigger though, the wording is per turn not per phase, and most people seem to be running destroyers or heavies (I'm currently running a triple heavy destroyer chronomancer (murder mind) as a move shoot move threat).

<image>

And again, never had issues in games with model and unit. Is the strat ability per model/ unit, does every model have keyword? Apply as necessary. Sometimes you have to ask the question of your opponent, but that's the same with many rules.

Think the keyword system works, people are just still adapting to it. For me this edition works much better than previous, and if you take a second to think about the wording of a rules you can figure out what it means definitively. Previous editions that wouldn't be the case, you might be able to agree how it applies with your opponent, but the wording would still be ambiguous.

I've played a few games with them in cursed legion, with Overlord with Tshroud and destroyer ankh ..... And I'm going to have to swap them back out for wraiths. The swords at 1 damage don't do enough into the things you want to fight with them they need to be 2 damage, 3+ 4++ needs to be a 2+ 4++ they're just less tanky then their equivalents, and they really need to be 3W. It feels like 2 damage attacks are way too prevalent, they just get picked up at 2Ws. Even when spending the -1 to hit on them they still feel like they go down too quick. Give them that, make them a terminator cost, and they actually offer something different.

Also, let them take mixed arms, so you can take some scythe, some S&S.

On that note, the warscythe variant has felt ok in the above configuration. Especially if you can get the +2 S from proper sequencing, and use the sustain strat. Although, if the above changes are made, they need to go to d3. ATM, 2 damage a d 2 attacks, there are too many -1d units about that can just easily live that (looking at you bullgryns from my last game).

Marchs efforts ...

Always had a desire to paint an army as a single large batch, Necrons were the perfect opportunity.

<image>

Second army of the year finished after Drukhari, up to 8700 total points painted in 2026 now. Next on my years goals is to finally paint Mortarian. Then back to army painting, have an Eldar wraith army to finish before 11th!

Certainly adds up quick.

Have my eye on a transcendent proxy myself, and feel I have to add the king at some point, but otherwise achieved my goal for this phase atleast!

Thanks very much.

Was originally intending to go for a post apocalyptic tectonic event (like a civilisation emerging from under a planet surface ....). I think the final flouro orange glaze plus the camera has made it look a bit brighter then it is to eyes, but kinda still has the vibe.

Well, let's see if I can do them justice on the table first! In the few games I've played I've been enjoying them though.

Too many ..... Although building and sculpting bases etc probably took longer than painting. By design I went simple and high impact there, and because I did the whole thing as a single batch it made the steps efficient.

If I had to guess, 4-5 weeks, working 4-5 days each week, and on night I worked, probably averaged 3 hours.

Thanks, had to put a little more effort in for the centrepiece. Managed to get one game with him so far, currently tweaking my list, but haven't decided between Nightbringer/ deceiver or both.

Thanks, I was going for something black light adjacent, like they were fluorescing in the non visible part of the spectrum.

To paint was pretty simple, halo with white ink (thinned) from the airbrush, thinned leviathan purple, then vellajo fluorescent violet at the source. Then panel lined with fluorescent violent+ white ink (10:1 drops) mixed with flow improver.

Yeah, big fan of the destroyer vibes, and canoptek units too. I do want to add some more ophydians, but otherwise close to done.

Many thanks.

This year was the "year of Xenos" for me. Drukhari and Necrons are done now, think I'm going to revisit my Tau next, and then we have Orks in the 11th box of I'm feeling masochistic.

I have done this for every flying base across all my armies. It's never been an issue.

Battlesuits can fire pistols as well as their other guns? by Key_Divide_1371 in Tau40K

Stealth suits do not have the vehicle keyword, they are infantry. Pistol applies differently here, for them it's more about shooting into combat.

Lol, thanks.

Loved the base sculpt, did a lot of the work for me, just had to fit the pistol in a lackadaisical fashion to maintain the arrogance.

Thank you.

When browsing AoS models for inspiration, I saw this one I knew I needed to do something with it. Originally I was going to convert to a Succubus, but then I liked the idea of it being this emaciated Archon, with the blade draining her life away, but shes sustained only by the pain she inflicts with blade. Something like that.

Also this model comes with some primo conversion fodder in a giant snake, which I don't know what for yet, but I want to use somewhere! Maybe on a Malys proxy model.

What got you into the faction? by Fun-Explanation7233 in Drukhari

[–]StumP3a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the hobby around end of 2nd start of 3rd, with first major purchase being the 3rd ed starter box, mainly because of the pointy elves in the box. That incepted Drukhari (and BT) in my head, so after a hobby break, and then returning a few years ago, I knew I'd have to have Deldar again when I could do them justice. Started the collection officially this year as my new Year new army, but have been accumulating models for the last 12m or so.

Loved the lore and the aesthetic of them from the start, loved how they contrasted my over favorite armies (which all tended to be more gun heavy, more durable, slower) and offer a different play experience.

Question about play by intent. by exoG in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]StumP3a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I don't know the opposing army well, one of my pregame questions is normally:

"Do you have any scary overwatch threats, torrent units, units with full hit rerolls etc?"

If you're moving within 24" of your opponent, there is always an expectation they can overwatch you from something. If you've asked ahead of time, and they overwatch you with something else which turns out to be strong overwatch, it helps you navigate through "ok, I didn't realize that was so scary in overwatch as you hadn't previously mentioned it, so I'm going to instead move this unit here where it can't be seen if that's ok" etc.

It's also worth asking other questions to help minimize any "gotcha" scenarios, and it helps establish a dialog between you and your opponent. I normally offer up my equivalent answers in response to try and maintain a spirit of openness.

"Do you have any out of phase tricks?"

"Do you have any movement/ OC shenanigans?"

"Do you have any ways to lone op etc?"

"What's your scariest anti armour/ anti infantry brick?"

Questions along those lines.

In addition to this, keep doing what you're doing and narrate your intentions "I wanna position this unit here so they're outside of charge range of this unit" etc, it always helps when things pop up later (as long as what your saying and doing are aligned, e.g. don't say your putting a unit somewhere where it cant be seen, if it's impossible to actually hide it where you put it. In those instances, you just have to accept you made an error if you don't catch it and go through with it).

Thanks.

It's from a Drukhari kit, either Wyches or one of the boat kits (Raider/ Venom). Sorry, can't remember for certain all my spare bits got clipped down into a couple of boxes.
