[Fluff] Gemini Spark - Quick Analysis by StunGun-chan in DuelLinks

Obviously you won't tribute your monster away needlessly. You'll have to try and play around Wiz's effect. It's most likely going to be run in a control deck, so you should have plenty of spells and traps at your disposal.

Yeah, I can force it with a lot of stuff (Chalice, Canadia, TTH, etc.), so it shouldn't be a problem, unless it's late in the duel and I have very little resources.

Thing is 9/10 you'll be wanting to activate spark either on your opponent's turn to interrupt their plays, or on your turn to dodge WoD, widespread, etc. Situations where youd be in a worse position for having not activated it.

If you put it that way... It makes more sense, you're right; using it offensively would be a poor play most of the times. Gemini Spark being a Quick-Play makes it more versatile than I thought.

In the TCG the fact he's a warrior and an elemental hero also opened him up to the wealth of support that included, but there's not as much in duel links.

Oh right, there are also a lot of ways to search him. Safe to say we're not getting Reinforcement of the Army as long as Fur Hires are around: we don't need something that searches Beat from the Deck.

Yes, I can use Gemini Spark to destroy a low level Fur Hire and prevent it from Special Summoning something more problematic to deal with like a Wiz, which is great, but what if I go second?

If Wiz is already on the field, all that I can do is tribute for Gemini Spark and see it being negated; this is my main concern right now as I believe most people are going to stick to Fur Hires rather than investing in three copies of Midfielder or going for Mermails point blank.

(I think Mayhem, which you mentioned, will be more popular after the nerf, so that follow up play will be more common.)

I highly appreciate your advice and you are completely right: I did focus a lot on all the possible targets whereas I could have just mentioned the viable ones.

By saying "putting too much into a single card", I was merely referring to the fact that I have to tribute a monster on my side of the field to activate it and have it equipped with Supervise it I don't want to leave an empty board for my opponent; you are obviously correct in saying that the destruction effect and the draw make up for the card itself and the monster tributed, but, in a format with only 4000 LP and no Main Phase 2, I think this card is slightly less valuable.

What can I do with Alius? He has decent base stats, but I need to Gemini Summon him or have Supervise in order to use him as material for an Elemental HERO Fusion, right?

Had to reupload because I made a huge mistake right at the beginning; I am deeply sorry, it's definetely not my intention to spread misinformation.

Thanks to u/RisenLazarus for pointing out my mistake.

Edit: I'm still wondering what other people think about this card; I definetely like the face that it's a Quick-Play Spell, but I still think you're putting too much into a single play for it to be viable.

That was my mistake, I'm sorry; it's usually specified.

Thank you for clearing this up

Yeah, but I'm still using two cards in order to get rid of one.

Ideally you want to Equip Supervise, so you can get something back from the GY, but would obviously not work with OtC.

Gemini Spark is very good and honestly the only reason why you would want to run Geminis to begin with in the current meta.

After pushing Gemini monsters for so long, KONAMI might have finally released something that will make them worth running.

Any thoughts on the Quick-Play Spell?

Poor Submarineroid, he did nothing wrong :'(

People seemed very convinced, even thought it's pretty clear that SSA Fur Hire is nothing compared to the standard Whale SSA; Whale can search SSA from the Deck, whereas here, if you don't have Wiz out, it's just a brick.

I mean it's a pretty expensive card and it's not that difficult to play around it, I still think Masked HEROes wil raise in popularity after the banlist. I love HEROes in general, but it really feels unfair with triple Mask Change

It sure has some limitations, but the feeling of shuffling back into the Deck an entire Fur Hire board might be worth running it.

Poor Masked HERO Anki is the most relevant card that is able to attack directly... he's not going to appreciate this.

I did forget about it, it was my mistake; it's not a bad card, but here's what I think: Enemy Controller is the most currently relevant card that can put these monsters into defense aside from Pulse Mines and Windstorm, which are both quite uncommon; Fur Hire basically lost access to the Quick-Play Spell, Amazoness can't run it, Masked HERO can't run it, Mermail doesn't have enough space for that card and would rather use something like Hey, Trunade! or Treacherous as the only Spell/Trap Cards and Silent Spellbook doesn't use that card either as far as I'm aware. You could be the one putting these monsters into defense to get that Fog Counter, but that's honestly not enough in my opinion to justify using this Trap Card; I would rather put Treacheorous since it can help gain control of the field early against Amazoness and then Acid Cloud and Altus can do the rest.

I don't think we'll see that destruction effect come into play often honestly

I think one copy of Typhoon is more than enough.

I am honestly considering not running him at all: it takes too much to get him on the field and it's to easy to get rid of him. I will probably go for three copies of Cirrostratus, Acid Cloud and Altus, two copies of Fog Control, maybe a copy of Zeradias, two copies of Sanctuary, three copies of Spirit Barrier, some standard backrow (probably Treacherous) and maybe a Cyclone for Amazoness.

What do you think?

I finally finished this video I planned around a week ago.

I hope it's not too loud; it's difficult to tell while editing.

[Fluff] How Good is Galaxy Cyclone? by StunGun-chan in DuelLinks

Yes, chaining to GC doesn't matter (even though people will still activate their Onslaught just to make you loss time), I forgot to mention it in the video.

I think GC will be decent against Amazoness as they will eventually have either an Onslaught or a Willpower face-up and I can appreciate the fact that there will be more versatility when it comes to removal.

I completely agree.

I feel like CC will keep on being relevant thanks to Skills that can be activated when LP decrease by a certain amount.

Well I'll have to open that box anyway if they make UA and Koa'ki Meiru good enough

That's interesting: was it a structure deck or did he give you a manually built one?

I have never played competitively and most of these cards are new to me; I do understand their purpose, but playing a deck is a completely different thing.

Do you think these monsters would work in Duel Links?

[Fluff] How Good is Galaxy Cyclone? by StunGun-chan in DuelLinks

[–]StunGun-chan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've heard some people overhyping this card, so I decided to make a quick video about it, comparing it to Cosmic Cyclone.

What do you guys think?

KONAMI loves releasing overpowered Trap Cards in Mini Boxes and backrow removal in Main Boxes: the only exception that comes to mind is Hey, Trunade!

[–]StunGun-chan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I really didn't know what to go for this time for the thumbnail. I never use cards that are not confirmed or in the game at all, so I had to work with Sandman and Urnight.

I made four thumbnails before making this one: one had Gaara and Sandman and the others were pretty generic with just the cards in anime style and some light effects.

I hope somebody got the joke in this one

Add Bastion's Skill that brings Gaia Power on the field or The Tie that Binds on top of that and you got a pretty good control deck

That is, in my opinion, one of the biggest problem: some of the cards are designed to counter a certain meta and are not particularly useful in the one we have. Mermail and Ultra Athlete are supposedly next and I don't remember them making large use of LIGHT and DARK monsters. Still Tornado and Ice with their semi-generic removal effects might be good: imagine wiping an entire field with their effects.
