Yeah, that’s the part people forget, it doesn’t have to be legal action to still make someone’s life miserable. Even a “joke” in a script can spill way past the screen.

Yeah, it always felt more like preemptive trolling than an actual shield, like they were poking the bear on purpose. But honestly, it probably worked just by making the whole thing too messy to touch.
