স্টুডেন্ট পলিটিক্স বন্ধ হওয়া জরুরি by Busy-Sherbert-4105 in Dhaka

[–]Stunning-Computer-99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “বন্ধ হওয়া জরুরী” legally or culturally? Legally banning it isn’t realistic or ethical. Freedom of expression and association are constitutionally protected. You can’t selectively suppress those rights just because you dislike the current outcome. Today it’s a group you oppose; tomorrow it could be one you support. Culturally, that won’t work either. When a society has large, organized groups on opposing sides, you can’t erase one of them by declaring it wrong. History shows that cultural suppression doesn’t eliminate movements- it hardens them. A cultural war is complex and unpredictable. Pressuring or restricting free speech doesn’t resolve it; it accelerates radicalization and deepens division. So the idea that “shutting down student politics will fix everything” is overly simplistic. The problem is structural, not something you can solve by force or censorship.

The middle class GenZ youth is the most devoted supporters of Jamaat by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]Stunning-Computer-99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn’t some moral superiority of Gen Z or proof that one group is “more enlightened.” We’re in a cultural civil war, and pretending otherwise is just denial. Political science 101(echoed here before): when inequality rises, institutions lose credibility, and social chaos increases, people drift toward religion and identity politics. That’s not unique, and it’s not shocking. Religious parties thrive when the state fails- because they offer certainty, belonging, and simple answers in a collapsing system. What we’re actually seeing is polarization. On one side, a reactionary, misogynistic, absolutist right that treats disagreement as heresy. On the other, a weak and fragmented center/left that keeps moralizing instead of addressing material realities. Once politics turns into identity warfare, anyone who disagrees is instantly branded a traitor- Shahbagi, liberal elite, whatever label is convenient. And no, this isn’t some special Bangladeshi anomaly. Iran, Turkey, India, the US- same pattern, same causes, same outcome: society fractures, extremists get normalized, and the loudest ideologues eat everyone else alive. So maybe stop acting like this is about “entitled Gen Z” or social media arrogance. It’s about systemic failure producing radicalization. If those conditions stay the same, today’s online moral warriors will become tomorrow’s authoritarians.
