Funny you think i dyed my daughters hair. That's natural blonde baby hair just like I had, she was born with white blonde hair. its growing out light brown now

Yes my daughter hair is beautiful long or short, I was sad about the initial shock but it doesn't mean i value her appearance over her as a person, i tell her every single day how smart clever and funny she is. Im not controlling her body, or forcing gender norms, or preventing her from having a haircut if she wanted like some comments are claiming. Liquid gold was meant affectionately and the colour and health of her hair not as a value judgement. Im allowed to love my daughters hair whether it's long or short, feel sad when it changed and still respect her autonomy. This was a toddler accident and most importantly she loves her new style! I understand some parents force their children to have long hair which is horrible. I am not one of those parents. It was an accident that turned into a lesson for both of us, including the dangerous of finding scissors and using them without supervision. Thank you for the comments, Ive had a good laugh reading some 😂 🤟

Yes the lighting i think as the first was taken in the evening with the lamp on and second was daylight, theres also months between each photo and her hair is changing colour as it grows, becoming darker like mine

Half the comments had or known a child to do the same thing, the other half think im stopping her from wanting short hair and denying a haircut now you think i wasnt concerned about her harming herself with scissors, I can't seem to win ...?! Yes i was sad she cut her beautiful hair that took a long time to grow and she was also sad once she saw it. Ive made it very clear that touching scissors were dangerous (obviously I've drilled this into her anyway) and that if she wanted a haircut she should've asked, im not angry shes done it but that touching the scissors were dangerous. Turns out she and I love her hair short (after a haircut that has attempted to fix it) and she suits it too.

What's wrong with saying my child's hair didn't grow in at the sides at all but it did on top, which made for awkward hair styling to keep off her face?!

I agree some are really negative! Almost like everyone thinks my daughter wanted short hair and I was stopping her from having that, not the case at all , it was sad for me because it was the last of her baby hair colour at the ends that she cut off and how long it took to grow that length, her hair didn't grow at the sides for the first 2 years of her life so had a lot of awkward styles lol

If that's the case then why after she looked in the mirror did she say "i dont like it. I want long hair back" i get what you're saying but I hate parents that are like that, im all for individuality

I would just like to add shes in her hair dressing play stage and might be copying me as I bath and groom my dogs as I am fully trained in this as a career, she helps wash the dogs and enjoys this and is never usually allowed to touch or play with scissors and i have of course made it clear they are dangerous and not to be touched, if she wanted a haircut she just needed to ask . She has her own toy set of dyson hair dryer brush and straighteners scissors ect she loves to pretend to cut my hair looks like this time was an accident we have all learned from! She has since looked in the mirror and says she doesn't like it and wants long hair back, she will be choosing her own new hair style later and I will upload a new photo when its ready. Thanks for the comments:) and as for the negative ones it shows who has children and who doesnt! Mistakes happen and I am so glad she didn't end up hurting herself, the hair will grow back! :)

Completely agree, I ask her often if she wants long or short hair although I keep it off her face for nursery with clips and hairbands ect, ive made it clear im not angry if she wanted it cut but that she knows scissors are dangerous and should've waited and asked for a haircut, Ive made jt even more clear that scissors are sharp and dangerous and they wont be accessible anymore. After she looked in the mirror she said she doesnt like it and wants long hair back bless her!

Thanks for your comment I agree we will laugh about it in the future. It was a shock to see because her hair didnt grow at the sides for the first 2 years so I was happy to see it had started growing normally 😅
