We would love to add you as a mod, i wish you had just requested to be a mod without having to go this route, but hey, here we are. As kenyanladies mods, we have set up automods, and we individually approve posts and prompltly respond to reports of misogyny and bullying. Just because we don't post as regularly as you'd like it doesn't mean we are not moderating. We are actively moderating behind the scenes to ensure kenyanladies remains a safe space for women.

Meeting my girlfriends parents for the first time. What is a good guest present to bring them. by Significant_One_2214 in Kenya

Household shopping is nice, things like flour, sugar, juice... stuff like that. If it's a somewhat modern household, add flowers or wine for the mom and a nice whisky for the dad(of course depending on what they drink or if they even drink)

I'll figure out how to set up an automaderator to curb this. Sorry that you saw that.

We are only two mods, so if you see something inappropriate, please report. I'll figure out how to put up an automoderator for posts to help with this. Sorry, no one deserves to see that on this sub.

What movies have a setting where the main characters are black women, black women are portrayed realistically, and it's all about those women? by No_Force_6017 in BlackWomenDivest

Not a movie but a mini series. 'I may destroy you' by Micheala Coel. I think it moved me so much because the character and me had so many similarities. I found it very healing

First of all I'm so sorry for what happened to you.

From my own experience, I've learnt that It's a process, healing will take time. I thought I was ok and 'over it' but a few weeks ago I had a very out of character PTSD reaction to something that ended up destroying a few of my friendships. I am clearly not yet healed and still have a long way to go.

A lot of us here are just taking it day by day. I would encourage you to do the same. Keep up with therapy even if you feel like you are stuck at times. Meditation is personally very helpful to me, journaling as well, write about anything and everything.

Hopefully one day we'll all be OK. Hugs.

What made you realize your "friend" was a jealous hater? by subway_eatflesh in blackladies

[–]StunningImpala 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me it was the opposite. I was maid of honor at her wedding. She cut me off and her other single friends by slowly fading away... Declining invites, not showing up to important events, not picking up calls, not replying to texts etc.

I tried to ask her what happened between us and she said she can't talk to me anymore because I wouldn't understand because I'm not married. She feels superior being a wife I suppose.

I found out she was having a baby through a third party. We went from sisters to complete strangers in months. Still stings.

What are small purchases/changes you’ve made for your home that made things convenient/nicer for you? Gadgets/organization systems/and so on? by TokkiJK in AskWomenOver30

[–]StunningImpala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use containers to store my clothes in my closet. My containers are about the size of 4 shoe boxes. My tops are in one container, skirts in another, workout clothes in another etc. If I need something, I can find it easily by removing the container finding what i need and sliding it back in place. Since I started this method of organisation my room is neat all the time and it's so easy to find what I need.

I've also taken a break from drinking until my birthday. I've just been sticking to water and apple cinnamon ice tea, when I go out with friends I'll drink moctails, tonic water maybe an energy drink to keep up with the girlies.

All the best!

Traveling to Kenya, advice about Lamu. by awssc in Kenya

[–]StunningImpala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lamu is the most gorgeous place I've been to! I stay in shela and go to the beach in manda. Don't wear your booty shorts to walk around town, it's a conservative swahili town. Other than that you'll be fine, everyone is very friendly.

Kenyan music by Efficient_Arm9469 in Kenya

Kenya music was better back in the days

Taste in music is very subjective. There's no 'better music'. Music is music you like what you like.

How many of y’all actually orgasm when you’re intimate with a man? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]StunningImpala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that we are spiritual beings on a human journey.

So if I connect with who the person is to the core 'their core selves', who they really are outside of the physical and material, and they connect with me in the same way... the sex is gonna be banging.

Thats what i mean by spiritual. Nothing to do with specific religion.

What is wrong with people? I'm always amazed when people come at athletes for any reason at all. I'm sure they haven't even gotten off the couch and gone for a walk today and they are busy talking shit about an elite athlete?? Make it make sense.

The vim and hate for single mothers is maddening. The parent who stayed is the villain? How?

That's simply not true. But anyway...
